30 Community Way, East Greenbush, NY 12061, United States
Do NOT consider Hawthorn Ridge for ANY level of senior care other than completely INDEPENDENT living! The in-house doctors refuse to properly diagnose residents with dementia when it is 100% obvious even to floor level staff in order to keep residents insurance from kicking in. Then they proceed to serve 30 day eviction notices if the time comes that a residents condition progresses and their long term insurance SHOULD kick in with a proper diagnosis. Hawthorn Ridge loses money and that is ALL they care about, NOT patient care. Then they force residents family to stay overnight until said resident can move out. Communication is horrible and administration avoids speaking with any outside doctors of the resident at all costs, even if requested by said outside doctor to help remedy emergent situations. Several handicapped parking locations lack a ramp within a reasonable distance, forcing residents to walk or wheel unreasonable distances to access sidewalks. The floor staff is generally very helpful, as is maintenance, but administration is a completely different story. Independent living is ok here, any level of assisted is not. STAY AWAY if your family member is not 100% independent and DO NOT expect a smooth transition to assisted living or memory care when the time comes. Always prepare for eviction.
