My mom is stubborn and refused rehab care after a stroke. Life has a funny way of making you slow down. After an illness, it was unavoidable. She was just there for a short time but loved it. The rehab department here is amazing. Not to mention the rest of the staff. I hadn't seen my mom that happy in a long time. She also told me when she's old she wants to live there haha. I couldn't say enough about it. Thank you Eastlake staff for being great at what you do!

In a dog eat dog world where staffing is a problem everywhere and everyone is stretched thin, trust this RN when I say: You want to work here. The management here pulls together and steps up to make sure that the residents needs are met. I just watched the DON and Infection Control Manager leave after 10/11 PM and its not the first time I've seen this. Staff come together to help each other out, have each others backs and make sure that all of their "people" have been taken care of properly. The QMAs are knowledgeable and hard working. Been coming here for months as an agency nurse and will truly miss these people when I have to leave. If you are looking for a work family, consider giving these folks a try. You wont regret it!
When my brother was in there the last year of his life he fell off the transportation bus steps. He slept all the time.Almost every time I was there he was sleeping and gained a lot of weight. I told them I wanted him to be on a physical therapy , they did have him do it and it stopped. I got nothing but excuses that his medicade/medicare wouldn't pay for it, he was asleep, they didn't have enough time or people (staff) ect. Very understaffed there at that time. Bedbugs in his room, things were stolen, New blanket I bought him, a wooden box with his name on it,(we were going to put his ashes in it when he passed away),new clothes out of his closet, new house slippers, new phone his daughter sent him, new t.v. his daughter sent him and a picture of our mother in a picture frame, and a picture of our mom his daughter sent him. Also laying in a wet bed several times. I realize that sometimes some patients wander into rooms and see something they like and pick it up,( my mom's teeth were stolen at a different nursing home, thankfully they locatated them) so don't know how this happened. I recently went there to visit a friend and things did seem to improve there with staff and cleaning, It didn't smell bad in the halls and my friend wasn't laying in a wet bed every time I visited. My one star rate reflects when my brother was there.
My dad received great care there. I don’t know what we would have done without them. They walked us through every step of the way. Thank you Eastlake for taking care of my dad
I don’t believe in speaking evil of no employer, but I really think this needs to be shared. East Lake , in my opinion, needs to try to be a little more caring . I tried being a great CNA while working there, . I song to my residents and tried making each person I touched feel loved , as if they were my own mother or father. I loved making the residents rooms look beautiful and them smelling beautiful and feeling special . There are great CNA’s and nurses there , and need to be praised for that , but unfortunately, I wasn’t always treated the best while working there. I was and others were put by themselves due to lack of CNA’s at the time . I believe that is better now . I’m happy for them for that . Good luck to the new on boarding CNA’s I pray you guys do well !!’ But on a more serious note . I’ve watched residents left unattended , residents were in tears some of them and I reported it to the D.O.N. and the nurses on duty . I’ve seen so much negligence while working there . CNA’s complaining about being over worked and some have quit. I stayed in the fight and tried working with them. I recently through my back out a couple of times and they weren’t always accommodating to my injury . They not only refuse to accommodate my injury , after knowing doctors restrictions while being on worker’s compensation and tried reaching out to the D.O.N,, the adjuster and nurse case manager about this and now I’m fired because I refused to go back until they agree with the accommodations. I missed a lot of work because of being either overwhelmed, or being in so much pain . . I actually care and tried to share love to so many that didn’t feel loved there . It’s shameful how some are treated . I will miss the residents and staff . They can have a great team there , but they need to be more patient with the residents and their employees. You need your employees to make everything run smoothly and pleasant!! I believe the director is trying to make her employees feel special . My situation is just one, that can be worked on. Please try to be more patient with your employees!’ I believe love ❤️ is the key to it all
