Did a tour of facility today, mom is moving in soon. Absolutely loved it there!!! Staff was so nice and social with residents and also welcomed mom with huge smiles. The whole facility was very clean, organized with lots for residents to do. Felt like everyone ,mutually, felt like family. The dining hall was set up like a restaurant and immaculate. I love that mom has options to start independent when help is needed assisted living then skilled nursing. I highly recommend you check this option out rather than sticking loved ones in a nursing home

Making the decision to move your aging parent from their home to an independent or assisted living arrangement is never easy. The marketing staff at Daybrook Village was so helpful, considerate and understanding of all that we were going through as a family trying to make this decision. They made this process so much easier for my mother, my brothers and me. Once the decision was made and we started moving my mother in the staff made all of us feel so welcome and comfortable it was amazing. Nursing administration, maintenance and other residents have been incredibly friendly, helpful and made us feel comfortable that our mother has people around 24 seven that take her safety health and well-being as a priority. In her first year at Daybrook she became ill, went to the hospital and when discharged needed to be placed in short term rehab. Since she was a resident in Independent living Day Brook made sure to hold a bed for her in their rehab facility and ensure a smooth transition back to her apartment. They provided physical therapy and occupational therapy in her home/apartment to continue her recovery and make sure she got back to her normal living abilities. Nursing has taken over shower assistance and assistance with getting to and from the dining hall, housekeeping cleans weekly and does an amazing job, maintenance has always responded quickly and resolves any issues immediately. The administration staff responds to any concerns we as a family have immediately and quite honestly continually surpass all of our expectations. I won’t list names in case I forget someone however I can honestly say that every single person at Day Brook has been wonderful to work with and they are incredibly supportive and responsive. We have even called to security at night because my mother couldn’t get the television to work and they went right up and helped her get to working. They have lightened the work of caring for my mother and made it so we can enjoy visiting and being together without being the primary care giver any longer. I have nothing but gratitude and respect for the entire staff at DayBrook. I would highly recommend this location for anyone considering downsizing and looking for a safe, caring location for your parent(s).
What a terrible place. My family member went there, staff is rude and unprofessional. Morning medication was given at 1pm, wound nurse didn’t know how to work a wound vac, not sure why they excepted him knowing he had one. Asked for an oral temperature and was told they don’t have a probe for it. Needed stat labs, that didn’t happen, had to be transferred out to big baystate. Needless to say he won’t be going back there. Caught himself some covid while there too, nobody wears a mask in the patients room.
My mother was a resident of Daybrook for a couple of months following a stroke. My family and I thought she was very well cared for during her time there. Is it the most modern facility in western Mass? No, but she was treated with kindness and dignity by the nurses, aides and physical therapists the entire time she was there and we are very grateful to all of them for helping her.
Staff is extremely rude and unfriendly. Working conditions are unacceptable and unfair, leaving one or two staff members to do all of the work, cooking, delivering, dish washing, along with calling on Christmas Day and expects one to drop everything to bust their ass. If you have any respect for your elderly family members, do NOT put them here
