Staff members need to be more friendly, was yelled at for pushing the door trying to get out of the AL unit, which set off alarm. Two minutes earlier was speaking with LPN at the desk, not sure why she didn’t mention needing a code to exit the unit, then another rude person in a white lab coat came out raising her voice saying “YOU CANT JUST PUSH THE DOOR”, stop assuming people know your rules.

my mother has been a resident of Daughters Of Miriam for the past three years. The care has improved quite a bit under the most recent owners. The food is a four out of five. It is usually pretty well staffed except on the weekend. My mom is always clean and dressed they have an excellent nurse who is in charge of everything and also the activities director is fantastic. I wish they had a little better supervision on the weekends.
This place was bought by two brothers from New Jersey. That do not care about the residents or staff. State has been there twice and they have been fined for residents getting bed sores and improper care from the staff. Do not put your love one in this place or work here. There is nothing good about this place. Numerous complaints have been filed against this company and their sister company. Take the reviews seriously and do your research before placing your loves here or working here. The good reviews are from the people who work there.
***DON'T TAKE ANY FAMILY MEMBER TO THIS FACILITY!!!*** THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!!!! One star is too much but's there's no other option. The lack of accountability, responsibility and common sense throughout the whole staff (not rehab staff) is perplexing. The total lack of care not only for our mom but I am also worried about the seniors that are there that don't have a family to advocate on their behalf. Senior neglect is real at this facility!! The nurses and aides walk out (we’ve seen it). The ones that's there are only concerned about a paycheck and be on their cell phones, the food menu is like they're serving kids at a day care, your calls always go to voicemails, the front desk is gathered by staff standing there talking. One day a senior fell on the floor and was laying there trying to pull herself up a nurse 3 feet away was on her cell phone. My husband had a meeting with Isaac (the admin) and things still didn’t change. My husband was there when a nurse didn’t show up for the night shift and told Isaac the next day, they were short a nurse Isaac kept saying no they wasn’t. Out of four doctor appointments our mom had they only got one right with transportation. Good thing we were there to take her. The day of her SURGERY, no transportation so we had to rush her to the hospital. Each time they put the blame on someone else. Cindy (the nurse manager) didn’t put in the order on time like she said she would. Cindi didn’t put in the preadmission order for our mom. ALL these things and more are UNEXCEPTABLE. They don't treat the seniors with the care and concern that they deserve (not all staff but the majority) Emmauel was great! I know for a fact the staff wouldn't let their family members stay there under any of these bad conditions that go on in this facility on a daily basis. I can tell there's no ongoing staff training or standards being implemented; I don't care that they changed the name of this facility because they didn't change the type of care they used to give or should be giving. Montefiore used to be the best place for rehab and care, but now they are at the bottom of the barrel for care. I am heartbroken to talk about a place in this manner that I used to praise for their standards and morels. They have been in business for 142 years so it will always be called and remembered as Montefiore. Making changes to the inside is just as important as changing the name outside. I told a friend my mom was in there, she said "I used to work there, please, please get your mom out of there". Therefore, don't waste your time, energy or mental peace just because this facility may be close to your home or because it's "Beachwood". Don't do it!!! Take the reviews and stars seriously, I wish I did, but I went by what a nurse told me while my mom was in the hospital, she said 'they're good". NO, THEY ARE NOT GOOD!!!
Horrible care--nurses and aides work hard to care for elderly in environment that doesn't support or value its staff or its patients. There is constant turnover and so care is scattered at best. Needs new CEO, charge nurse, lead nurse, social workers and others in executive offices who are competent, skilled and capable of operating a quality care facility. The facility had class action law suits against them and criminal charges for falsifying COVID tests so they did what a lot of organizations do to change perception, they sold it. Whatever they call it now, do your homework. Ask to speak with current patients, nurses and families of patients. Best case scenario for your family member, find an excellent in-home care nurse and/or service or family member instead of sending your loved one to an institution.
