I had been working with Laura for a few months with the hopes of moving my Mom & Dad to Cypress Creek. Our family experienced unbelievable tragedy over the past few months, and when my Dad passed unexpectedly, and I moved my Mom to FL, the staff at Cypress stepped up and helped with the transition. They actually picked my mom up and allowed her to spend the day at the facility so I could work, this was before we even officially signed! My Mom has now been living there for about a month, she is doing well adjusting, I visit her at least twice a week, she is well cared for, eats well, enjoys the daily activities and goes on weekly outings. I sleep well knowing my Mom is in good hands!

When my mom had a stroke three years ago and would not be able to stay in her house, I visited eight Assisted Living facilities in Sun City Center, revisited three and made the RIGHT DECISION to place her in the CARING & BEAUTIFUL Cypress Creek Assisted Living where she continues to thrive into her late eighties. I visit almost everyday and am greeted by the aptly named JOY who is the pulse of Cypress keeping track of the many different needs and concerns of the residents and their loved ones. Most of the senior staff have been there for a very long time and do their best to create a home-like atmosphere bringing their lovable dogs to work and hiring the most caring aids who are trained to care for each of the neighborhoods grouped by need. Mom and I LOVE her “D” wing family and are happy that we can visit the members who moved down the hall because they needed more assistance. True friendships and love exist here. The energetic activities Director Maria and her staff keep a wide variety of creative exercise programs, Arts & Crafts, musical performances, games, birthday, and holiday celebrations and more. While my mom detests Bingo and the Balloon noodle games, she loves HAPPY HOUR and crafts. There is something for everyone! We love being invited to Family programs at Thanksgiving, St. Patrick’s Day and open houses connecting the many potential support programs available. This is a Faith Based community with no pressure to attend the many Catholic and non-denominational services which can bring comfort to many. Weekly JOYRIDES or field trips to a variety of restaurants, shopping and sightseeing trips are wonderful. All potential residents should visit Cypress’s Facebook page to see pictures of an engaged and happy group of seniors. Residents have some choice in what they are served for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Most love ice cream sundaes and appreciate that either soup or chili is served before dinner every day, which may be all they need. The nursing staff takes excellent care of mom who is on a variety of medications. I feel confident that they are keeping me informed and will take good care of her when I go out of town. I am happy to give Cypress Creek my highest recommendation.
UPDATE Dec 2024.. I am so thankful for Cypress Creek MC as I made the mistake of bringing my mom home in late October as she was thriving at CC and I thought I could finally take care of her. I was so wrong.... I have never appreciated all that they do every day for ALL their residents. Under my care (along with 2 hired caregivers) my mom declines right back to where she was before she entered CC. She was not leaving her bed and her memory went down hill fast. Mom will be returning to CC thanks to the wonderful staff who take excellent care of her. My Mom thrives at CC and loves it. There is NO PLACE better for your loved one. I made a HUGE mistake bringing her home and I am so thankful she is going back and will be happy, healthy and active again surrounded by people who love her like family. Original post in Sept 2024 Cypress Creek sets the bar for assisted-living and memory care. You will not find a better facility anywhere. The staff are so wonderful to the residences and truly love them. They assess potential residents prior to moving in so you can be assured this will be the right facility and if it’s not, they will help you find the right facility. My mom (99) moved here from another facility where she was just staying in bed all day and declining. I promptly moved her as soon as a room opened and within three weeks of living at Cypress Creek she is thriving again. Mom is stronger physically. She’s sharper mentally because she’s engaged every day with activities and people who support her and love her. It was the hardest decision of my life, and also the best decision of my life
In December, I had to make the difficult decision to move my 86-year old father from WA to FL, as he had been diagnosed with early-stage dementia. My father had lived in Washington state most of his life, so he was not thrilled about being uprooted to Florida. Cypress Creek had been recommended by a family friend, so we reached out to Laura, the Community Relations Director, who was extremely helpful in guiding us through the process. After determining that CC could accommodate the level of care my dad needed, Laura worked with us virtually to get the required paperwork and assessments completed so my dad was able to move in quickly when we arrived in Florida, minimizing further disruption and confusion amidst an already big change. After being at Cypress Creek for a few weeks, we had some concerns about my dad’s companion room placement and also that he may have been placed in a level of care that was more than he needed, given he still has more good days than “off” days. We reached out to Amber, the Assistant Administrator, and she was very responsive. Together, we discussed alternative room and wing options that would enhance my dad’s independence while also ensuring he would have additional support from the staff when needed. We ultimately adjusted his level of care and moved him to a private room that opens out to a beautiful courtyard. He has now been in his new room for two weeks now and is thriving. Aside from the scheduled events and weekly outings to restaurants in the area, he is enjoying the new friends he has made and told us this morning that “life is good.” This transition has been a big adjustment for all of us, and we’re so appreciative that the Cypress Creek team worked with us to find the best placement for my dad. As an additional comment, I cannot stress enough just how wonderful and caring Joy has been during this entire transition. She is the first face anyone sees upon arrival and having been with Cypress Creek for some time she offers a wealth of knowledge and kindness that I for one lean on regularly. Thank you all so much :)
This is the best place for your loved one. My 99 yr old Dad is there and I couldn't ask for better care. I'm there almost everyday and I see for myself the care he gets. His skin is very thin and they attend to and needs when he get a skin tear. Everyone that visits him remarks how clean the place is and the staff is so caring and friendly.
