I have had an Independent Living apartment at Blaine's Crest View Senior Community for 3 1/2 years. The modern 7 1/2 year old building and grounds are well maintained, but more importantly the staff are very service oriented and friendly from my experience. There are a number of daily activities and programs that residents can participate in, or stay in their quiet apartment when needed. I have no concerns about my safety, which is so important for seniors and their families. I have personally enjoyed the 10 meals included in my rent, my quiet, spacious apartment, the Christian activities, playing pool and my underground parking with the carwash. As a resident, I can leave if needed with just a 30 day notice AND also have priority to easily move "down the hall" to the attached Assisted Living/Memory Care building when that time comes.

Our mother while independent enjoyed Crest View. When it came to her end of life care, they were unable to provide the care or communication expected by our family when there was change of condition. They recommended the hospice agency which also failed to provide communication to family. They blamed each other for the lack of communication and care. The last week of her life ended up being a circus with little to no care provided and a lack of communication to family.
My parents enjoyed living in a beautiful independent living apartment for several years. We moved my mother to memory care and my father to assisted living. They are both happy and taken care of. They enjoy the community, staff, and activities. I feel confident that they are safe and are given wonderful care. Staff is always pleasant and engaging when I visit.
My brother and his wife are residents here. My sister in law is in memory care and my brother just moved to assisted living. Last October my brother was informed he could no longer keep his pomeranian dog named Penny. I have since had the pleasure of taking over the care of Penny. I have been bringing Penny to visit for 4 hours every week or every other week. It is such a joy to bring Penny there and see the smiles and joy on the faces of the residents . EVERYONE there loves her. Unfortunately I was told by 2 people who work there in some capacity that dogs weren't allowed in memory care as they just replaced the carpeting and puppy pads smell and they have had complaints about the smell. The first time I set foot in my sister in law's apartment with Penny (Note Penny had been gone for a month) I smelled the aroma of elderly people having accidents. It is a fact of life elderly people have accidents especially in memory care. So please don't blame innocent pets for the smell as we all know our elderly loved ones can't help that they have the problem. Penny brings joy and happiness to these precious loved ones for 4 hours a week.. I just ask don't take that away from them. Thank you in advance for your time.
My father lives here, and last night he had a heart attack and was picked up by Ambulance to get an emergency angioplasty for 100% blockage with a stent put in. NOBODY from Crestview called me to tell me, his only family member and his emergency contact. I didn’t even know anything had happened until my dad himself texted me to tell me he was in the hospital, after the procedure. This is an unacceptable level of care, especially when he lives in the Assisted Living side of the building.
