Cranes Mill has been holding my mother’s money hostage for over 3 years now. They never told us the unit finally sold, and when we found out, they did not pay us in the allotted time. It seems others are having similar issues. We are still waiting on the money 6 months later. Not only did they do a piss poor job at the pandemic, it’s a revolving door of staff… They don’t seem to care about their residents or employees.

My grandmother has been a resident of this community for years in their independent living sector and had a plan in place for future care at this community if/when needed. We had every reason to believe that she would be taken care of when that time came AND that there would be an open line of communication with her emergency contacts. The time for additional care has come and this community has FAILED to keep an open line of communication with her emergency contacts. I live across the country and have reached out no less than 10 times for updates on my grandmother and only once was my call returned.
Great place to live but a problem getting your money out after your loved one dies! Not at all honest or ethical! I have called several times over several months, no one ever returns a phone call! I was told it was in the CFOs hands! I found out unit couldn’t be sold because the contractors trashed it!! We were told no one was using it but found this mess when we did our surprise visit!!
I’m grateful that I made the decision to come to Crane’s Mill. It’s a very friendly and supportive place. The staff are cheerful, the residents are welcoming, the activities are varied and many and the food is good. Any problems within my unit have been attended to and cured within 24 hours. There are few problems however, usually something like changing a high hat lightbulb, fixing a screen, or hanging a picture. In addition one feels very safe here. The button I push every morning before 10am assures the front office that I am alive and well. Vaccinations are readily available and blood work preparations can be done in my own apartment. There are many committees, many activities and much sociability if desired. I recommend my new home highly. Corinne Driver
I am having difficulties getting my mom’s money back from cranes mill. They are past due on paying my family the 300,000.00 from selling my moms apartment. We were supposed to be receiving a check at the end of sept. It is now Dec. has anyone had this exhausting experience with them?
