The long time staff working at this memory care facility does not respect peoples autonomy and rather they try to control them. It is problematic because an autonomy culture is very important in memory care for the elderly- The long time staff do not work as a team The long time staff are not active in providing care however they spend their time taking away the autonomy of other staff that do spend their time caring for the residents needs ( food , basic care, activities ext) and respecting autonomy - The long time staff lacks the skills and lacks the professionalism and lacks the work ethic to be in memory care. The management is not active in making necessary cultural changes for the residents. The management lacks judgement in not being active in making necessary cultural changes for the residents. Country side living Memory facility and its culture is not a healthy residential environment for the residents in their condition due to the unhealthy threatening of autonomy the long time staff inflicts and the current new staff tries to fit in with and agrees that taking away autonomy is the way to treat people-The long term staff and the current new staff trying to fit in reprimands the staff that actively respects autonomy. Amanda the activities manager lacks good judgement and endorses the new and long term staff threats towards peoples autonomy and prefers the staff to threaten autonomy because she thinks it is what is best for the residents-

I am so very thankful I found Countryside Living for my mother! She loves the activities, there is always something going on to keep her engaged and happy! The care staff are kind and supportive. A wonderful place for your loved one!
Dementia is a long hard journey for families, and after several assisted living placements, both my parents were fortunate to live at Countryside. The staff is wonderful and well trained in compassionate care for both residents and family members. The facility is beautiful and feels like home. Staff is always out interacting with residents, providing hugs, crafts, snacks and activities, live music and dancing. Note the lack of interaction at other facilities you may visit. My dad enjoyed, hanging out by the warm fireplace and just observing. My mother enjoyed the daily visits from the children at the daycare upstairs, and especially the weekly scenic drives that end with a ice cream cone at a local restaurant. Countryside is a special place and many medical folks and others have said to me, that’s where they would want to go if needed. I agree and cannot thank the staff and administration for the compassionate care my parents and my family received. Both my parents have passed now, I feel relief that this long journey has ended for all of us. I am forever grateful for the care, community feel and many hugs we received.
There are few things in life harder than making the decision to place someone you love more than life in the hands of others. There are not enough words to express our gratitude to the entire staff at Countryside. The kindness and compassion displayed by all of you was so genuine and heartfelt. On behalf of my siblings, my father, and our entire family, we thank each and every one of you for treating our sweet mom with the utmost dignity and respect.❤❤
The staff are friendly, helpful, & compassionate. I'm so grateful that my mom is there.
