Possibly the worst place to trust your loved one with. Very unfriendly staff besides a very select few. No one checked on my grandma almost ever.. and when the time came where she passed away we are informed we have to get all of her stuff out right away after being told we could take our time as long as we needed. Here we are packing up all of my grandmas things while her body just lay there cold. No time to mourn they just want you out.

Once again, after my elective foot surgery in late January, I chose Concordia at Villa St. Joseph, Baden, for my short-term rehabilitation. In my opinion they are simply the best place for me west of Pittsburgh. And I mean all departments, nursing, aides, food service, maintenance and a very attentive PT and OT department. I believe quality comes from the top, and I think the management at this facility truly cares about both employees and customers. Thank you again for helping to get me back on my feet.
My Mom died in there, she was recovering from a fall, in the morning of her first day there she was sitting up having coffee and some bacon, later in the day I fell asleep in the chair next to her bed. I woke up and saw a nurse I assumed, injecting something into her belly. I asked what it was and she said heprin, I asked what that was, and she said it was a blood thinner. I told her, MY MOM IS A BLEEDER, SHE IS NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE ANYTHING LIKE THAT! ITS IN HER RECORDS, WHY DIDNT YOU CHECK? She said we didnt get her records from the AGH yet, but I wont give her anymore. The next day, Monday, I went to work and I got a call from my sister. She said, they went to change moms bandages and all this blood just came pouring out and she is not doing well. SHE WENT DOWNHILL AND DIED SHORTLY AFTER 😢
My 95 year old mother was recently in rehab here. The experience was completely different than the previous stay. We were so very disappointed in most of the care. I know they are short handed since Covid but there seemed to be no urgency in responding to the residents. One day I saw four calls for assistance being ignored while two nurses sat looking at computers & one fixing a beverage in the kitchen. Perhaps the nurses are being required to spend more time updating notes than actually attending to patients. Twice I had to request water for my mother while two young aides/nurses-in-training? sat in the common tv room looking at their phones. I will say there were a few who were very pleasant & willing to help & my mother looked forward to seeing them. My mother loved the therapy she received even though she wasn’t able to progress fast enough for insurance to cover her entire stay & she was forced to be private pay. I hate to see such a beautiful facility digress from the care for which it was known. I forgot to include a picture of her one week after bringing her home. This is the woman who was denied coverage 15 days after entering your facility for rehab on broken left hip, broken left humerus & broken left wrist because she wasn’t progressing fast enough. This is 40 days after her accident.
My mom was there for 9 days post shoulder replacement surgery for rehab. I toured the facility a month prior to get surgery and liked it, but boy did that every change once she was admitted. Let me say though that the rehab department was absolutely wonderful. It was started from day one when I specifically asked that my mother not be put in a diaper due to an inconvenience problem. I provided the adult under garment and pads, the very first night what did they do put a diaper on her, she was humiliated. It happened again the next day, with the nurses aide telling my mom that she didn't want to hear anything from her that she was using a diaper because she was not changing her bed, unacceptable!!! I called the next day and spoke with the Director of Nursing who was wonderful and handled it for me. Upon medication passing thank goodness my mom was aware of what was going on because they brought her the wrong medication not once but twice and the nurse just laughed and said oops.. At meal times, food was always cold and they just dropped her tray and left, never offered to open items on her tray for her since she only had one hand to use. God love my mom she's a sweet old soul that never wants to bother or inconvenience anyone so she just didn't eat or drink what she couldn't get open. When she left this past Thursday she had a breakdown on her buttock and also has been diagnosed with C Diff, a highly contagious bacterial infection in the intestines. This experience was humiliating for my mom and frustrating for the family. I WILL NOT recommend this facility..
