Not sure how they even get any positive reviews. Because of the positive reviews we got our dad admitted here. This rehab is short staffed and whatever staff they have is generally "short" with you. So rude and mean sometimes. Smells so bad in the hallways- patients keep calling. Hardly any response. Once in a while got a good aide- that was our lucky day. Overall zero stars
If you have a loved one you're considering placing here, please think twice. I genuinely do not believe the positive reviews of this facility are authentic. Our experience was heartbreaking and disturbing from the very beginning. My father-in-law, who is in the late stages of dementia, was transferred here from a hospital for long-term care. He arrived late at night—around 11 PM—so we weren’t allowed to accompany him or help him settle in. When we visited the next morning, we found him alone, wandering the hallways crying, visibly confused and scared, with no staff attending to him. No one offered him comfort or direction. For an elderly man in a new environment, already battling severe dementia, a little compassion and human decency could have made all the difference—but it was completely absent. The neglect continued on the second night. He was left in wet clothing for several hours, which left him deeply distressed. When we arrived, he immediately broke down in tears. That moment was devastating. He repeatedly begged us not to take him back there, and this was after just two days. That was all we needed to hear. By the third day, our family decided it was in his best interest to remove him from the facility and seek care elsewhere. That’s when things took a darker turn. Instead of supporting our decision or even trying to understand our concerns, management became defensive, rude, and borderline threatening. They tried to discourage us by claiming we’d be discharging him “against medical advice,” warning that his insurance would deny coverage and that we’d face serious issues with Medicaid. They even said the facility might bill us directly. All of these threats were later revealed to be either false or extremely exaggerated. It felt like manipulation—an attempt to pressure us into keeping him there against his will and ours. The social worker, Kim, was especially difficult to deal with. She was short-tempered, dismissive, and clearly more focused on convincing us to keep him there than actually addressing the serious problems we raised. Even after we agreed to wait one more day so blood work could come back, the staff couldn’t even communicate properly. When we called the next day to confirm that the labs were ready, someone initially told us we’d have to wait another day. After pushing back, they quickly backtracked and said, “Oh, actually yes, the blood work was completed.” That level of confusion and lack of professionalism only confirmed our concerns. When we arrived to discharge him, they threw up yet another roadblock: we were told we couldn’t take him because his clothes were dirty. Instead of informing us ahead of time that he would need a change of clothes, they waited until we were already there to use it as another excuse to delay his release. It felt like a calculated effort to hold onto a patient who clearly didn’t want to be there, rather than a compassionate gesture or part of any reasonable care plan. This entire experience was traumatic—for him and for our family. The facility’s lack of care, professionalism, and empathy was staggering. If you truly love your family member, I urge you to consider other options. No one deserves to be treated the way my father-in-law was treated here.
I am at the facility and it is the best place to be!! The care is just unreal, they really truly care for all the residents 💗💗💗 Administration is amazing together with an awesome nursing team!! The #1 facility in New Jersey!!!
It’s an older building, but the quality of care and the cleanliness is top of the road. My mother and my sister-in-law both been in there recently and the car is awesome.
