My review of Columbia Cottage is based on first impressions. Columbia Cottage was one of six senior living residences that I contacted in the greater Reading area for my parent’s care. It was at the top of my list based on recommendations and it was the first place I contacted. All of the other businesses answered immediately or contacted me within 24 hours. I’m sure of one thing, Columbia Cottage was not a good fit for us. Despite calling and leaving multiple voice mails, emailing and filling out an online contact form, I never got a single answer. I’m still waiting and it’s been a year and a half. I’ve Iearned 2 friends moved there recently. Whatever criteria Columbia Criteria uses to decide whether it will respond to some people versus others is suspect. I would be concerned that this treatment would carry over into client care. I’m happy that my parent is with a CCRC that shows respect and genuine caring for my parent and all of its residents.

My sister left a voicemail to get more information to move my mom there about 2 weeks ago. They never called back. I filled out the form online for more information about 2 days after my sister left a voicemail & again no response.
This is a long overdue review of Columbia Cottage in Wyomissing. Both of my parents had the good fortune of living there together. I have nothing but praise for the leadership and staff at the cottage. My parents were treated with respect and dignity, and the staff loved and cared for them dearly. I would highly recommend!
I am very pleased with the care and attention my husband has been receiving! Keep up the good work!
Residents are treated with dignity, respect, and they are given choices. The staff love. And they love deeply for the residents.
