The striking building and beautifully maintained grounds immediately impressed me. Alicia, our tour guide, was warm and deeply dedicated to the residents’ well-being. The community offers fantastic amenities: a music room, library, multipurpose rooms, a hair salon, and a small gym. The dining room felt cozy and welcoming, with two delicious meals served daily. I toured three units—a studio apartment, a salon-style apartment, and a one-bedroom apartment—each equipped with a refrigerator, two-burner cooktop, and ample storage. The vibrant activity schedule, including fun events like dart tournaments, made me want to stay longer! My experience with this location and Alicia have been wonderful. Her heart for the people in this community and in Lewis County shines during conversation. The community is clean and there are a lot of included extras. I recommend giving this hidden gem a look.
I have many friends living here. They are all happy to be living in such a beautiful facility with a caring staff. It is located in the gated community of Stillwater Estates, beautifully lacdscaped, and secure. They provide a large variety of activities in a Christian environment. Being a non-profit facility, it is more affordable than other similar assistant living homes in the area. Being close to a large variety of medical facilities is a plus including one right next door. There is a beauty salon and a physical therapist on site as well. Colonial Residence will be my choice when the time comes when I will need the loving care they provide.
There is a new road behind Colonial Residence that connects C.S. Lewis to Mark Twain. It is called Shakespeare Drive. New homes are being built on it. Hopefully, it can be added. Thanks
