Let me tell you this facility is amazing! I visited a friend in their rehab unit a bunch of times over the last few weeks. I’m amazed every time at how kind and caring the nursing staff is. And I’ve got to say, those therapists are DEDICATED. Super experienced and a nice clean therapy gym also. The staff is great from the top down, a guy named Jon was also helpful, really went out of his way for us.

I am extremely disappointed with the care my grandfather received at this facility. He was admitted for short-term care, but during his stay, his condition declined rapidly and drastically. One of the biggest concerns was severe dehydration, which should never happen in a professional care setting. It was clear that his basic needs were not being properly monitored or met. Additionally, the lack of communication with our family was unacceptable. We were not kept informed about his condition or any concerns regarding his health until it was too late. We had to push for answers and advocate for him constantly, yet we still felt left in the dark. A short-term stay should not result in such a severe decline in health. I would not recommend this facility to anyone looking for attentive, compassionate, and competent care for their loved one. I can’t stress this enough! This place will literally make sure your loved one declines rapidly. Do your research!!! I wish we had done more research before letting the hospital transfer him there just because there was an open bed. This place needs a complete overhaul!
My daughter was transferred from Civita in Danbury which was over 50 miles from family. Danbury is old and needs up dating. Badly. The staff needs being personable training. At least say "hello" to visitors. However, Newington is clean and staffed. They can manage to have more staff but they are friendly and the rehab team is great. My daughter has been there for two weeks and she has shown considerable progress. Her progress has positively affected her mental state and depression. This was the best move we made for her care. So far so great!
My mom has been s patient in the memory care unit and she pretty content for the situation. The staff is helpful but there's not enough for the amount of patients I think. But as long as my mom is cool so am I even though one of the patients sucker punched me in the ribs s few months ago. What a trip lol 😂
Warning!!!!! Never bring your family here the care is absolutely horrible I sat in my dad's room for 6 hours straight not one person came in to check on him he was dehydrated and never was given fresh water this place is a damn joke!!! He had blood work done and the results came back critical the staff saw it at 10:20 am and my father was woken up at 2am and was told that his levels were at critical and he needed to be rushed to hospital something serious could've happened to him!!! The emt also informed me that those blood results were read in the am and that the staff should have known and that his situation was bad so that goes to show you nobody cares to check on patient blood work .....everyone there are horrible the service is horrible don't bring your loved ones there!!! The emts also said that my father looked dehydrated, pail ,and tired ......when I told staff that he will not be returning there was no question,no concerns,no caring about his discharge so apparently they don't care about the patients this is the worse experience that I've ever been through with my father and I regret and feel very bad for placing him at this facility please don't do it to your loved one !!!!!
