I wouldn’t give this home a one star if I could put a review without doing it don’t ever send anybody here. Their administration is ridiculous, and my brother had nothing but a hard time with those people there why he was there. their Case Manager Shawn needs to go get a different job because she doesn’t know how to do her. my brother has been out of their home a whole week and no one has contacted him from the nursing for therapy for a wheelchair because they don’t know how to do their job. Very poor patient care. I would never send anybody here and I will never refer them or recommend them. I have had nothing but problems with the administration A lot of the people that work there are not helpful at all. So I really think it’s funny that it’s been a whole week and the woman that was supposedly taken care of this said that she was having a difficult time finding somebody that would take my brothers insurance. What do you know, I got a phone call from the home healthcare company today that just got the referral just a week later Sean you need to give up because you are terrible at your job 😡 horrible horrible place!!!!! And honestly the head guy doesn’t seem to return his calls either. I called several times without a phone call back. I’m just fed up with these people. Don’t ever send anybody there. I can’t tell you enough.. So your reply was to reach out to the nursing home if I needed anything well let me tell everybody nobody at this nursing home calls you back so there’s no reaching out. They just wanna make themselves look good.

Many thanks to all the nurses and aides who helped Dennis the last week of his life. He was in room 413B. You were all caring and showed genuine empathy and concern toward him. God bless you all for your caring and excellent teamwork by the staff.
I have been a financial supporter of this care community for many years, & my father in law is currently a resident in the assisted living building. The staff is very caring, the minister enthusiastically attends to the residents' spiritual needs, & the talented chef serves delicious meals. I also have a few friends who reside in the independent senior housing who love living in this community.
My dad is a new resident in assisted living memory care unit. So far he has been there 2 weeks. It took a few days for his care plan to be established and followed correctly but after a few days the plan is working. I have camera installed and all I see is the staff being EXTREMELY caring and kind. They never talk down to dad and are helpful and supportive. One of the daily care assistants thought she was blood in his urine and she informed the medical team … who caught an early UTI, talked to me the day it was discovered, got a test and results, got the on staff dr to examine him and prescribe antibiotics all in the first day it was discovered. This is be saving my dad a trip to the hospital. Last night during a sundowners episode the staff made him a PBJ and a glass of milk in the middle of the night to settle him Down and get him back to sleep. Super sweet. This community does Senior care/ assisted living / memory care as it should be done!
If you are looking for an Assisted Living facility for a loved one, save yourself some time and put Church of Christ Assisted Living Center (ALC) at the top of your list. There are many "fancier" places out there, but you probably will not find one with the level of care and compassion shown by the Church of Christ staff. I know that I didn't, and I visited/interviewed more than 20 facilities before visiting Church of Christ ALC. I knew within minutes that this was the best place for my elderly friend, and I have not been disappointed. The building's layout makes it easy for residents to navigate without becoming confused or lost, and the residents' rooms are spacious enough without being overwhelming. Rather than one large dining room resembling a military mess hall, each wing has a separate, nicely decorated dining area. This is so much less threatening to new residents; plus, the kitchen staff is able to learn each resident's preferences. The food is excellent! If you go to visit your loved one during a meal, you'll probably find yourself salivating. They don't offer multiple main course options at each meal but if a resident really doesn't like a particular dish, they can opt for a something like a hamburger, salad, chicken tenders, etc. The kitchen staff is remarkably talented, attentive and kind to the residents, something that I definitely did not observe at other facilities. There are several common areas where residents can gather to visit, watch TV, or participate in numerous daily activities. The Activities staff is amazingly creative and always has something enjoyable planned. And yes, if you are visiting, you can participate, too! You really haven't lived until you've played balloon bat-a-ball. The Aides take the time to learn each resident's idiosyncrasies, allowing them to respond quickly and with compassion to their needs. This is especially true in the Memory Care unit, where familiarity and patience are critical to maintaining each resident's sense of ease. I personally like the way that the Memory Care residents are usually kept together in their dayroom. While some people may find this restrictive, it promotes the residents' sense of community and security, which sitting alone in their rooms does not do. It also allows the Aides to monitor them carefully for signs of distress or medical emergencies with no time wasted by having to travel up and down the hallway. Everyone I have had the privilege of meeting at the ALC has been incredibly knowledgeable, professional and - most important - caring and kind. From the Nursing/Aides contingent to Housekeeping, Maintenance, Activities, Culinary and the amazing Concierges who know EVERYTHING, this is truly a great group of human beings. Taking care of those who need assistance is not an easy task, and they cheerfully do it day in and day out. They collectively made my friend's transition to the ALC and later to the memory care unit much smoother than I dared hope. These wonderful people do all the little things to make everyone as comfortable as possible - like bringing a resident a drink of water or small snack in the middle of the night; holding their hand when they are frightened; patiently waiting for them to take their meds; or any number of things we all may take for granted but are huge in making the residents understand that they are cared for and loved. I am truly humbled by the patience and caring shown by the staff. Is Church of Christ ALC perfect? Of course not. But it's as close as you can come as far as I've seen.
