My wife and I moved into this superb senior independent living community from Boston two years ago. We expected we would be able to continue living life as we knew it (except for the weather, yard work, etc.) and have help available if and when we might need it further down the line. Chateau delivered. It has proven to be a wonderful move. The roomy 2-BR apartment easily accommodated our books, furniture and “essential” junk and, to our delight, the chef at Chateau rates off-scale high. (Waist management is a bit challenging....). Tammy Atkins, the marketing manager, was especially helpful with the logistics of the long move. The staff and residents make for a very welcoming atmosphere. Many new friends to share dinners and activities with. The morning exercise class is particularly good. We are happily surprised at how busy retirement can be. We can’t recommend Chateau highly enough.

My husband and I had an exceptional stay at Chateau La Jolla last month. We were in town from Michigan, escaping the winter cold and visiting family who live nearby. We were so pleased to know that this community offers short-term stays as well! Our expectations were completely exceeded from the moment we walked in. We had a wonderful one-bedroom apartment equipped with everything we could have wanted and more. (My husband was particularly enamored with the Keurig and variety of coffee options). The staff and residents who call Chateau home were all so hospitable and kind. We participated in the exercise classes and were very impressed. Each day at Chateau, we walked to the La Jolla village and enjoyed some great local shops, such as Warwick's bookstore -- what a treat! We walked to the beach each evening to watch the sunset and came back to a wonderful dinner at Chateau. We were blown away by the food; it was fresh, flavorful, and prepared tastefully & beautifully. You truly can't beat the location of Chateau. We plan to return year after year, and maybe even as permanent residents one day. Thank you for a truly wonderful stay!! We would highly recommend!! ~ Betsy and Gary Crist
I have lived at The Chateau since July 12, 2023. Since the first day I was welcomed by the staff and the residences with warmth, friendliness and kindness. I have been surprised and appreciative that the staff remembers my name and always greets me with a smile and has time to chat. They are genuinely interested in getting to know me as are the residences. Tammy, Marketing Manager, has continued to take an interest in my adjustment and life here. I am extremely happy that I chose The Chateau.
I am a recent resident and after settling in, I find that life at the Chateau surpasses my expectations. The location is prime, on a quiet street between ocean and village. I really enjoy the many activities offered, especially the exercise classes and special events. The Chateau certainly knows how to celebrate holidays! I love the joy of not cooking and the excellent dining room cuisine. Most of all, I appreciate the friendliness of the community, the courtesy and capability of the staff and the positive environment that surrounds me every day.
My husband and I have lived at the Chateau for almost 6 years. We can’t imagine living in a more desirable location between the ocean and our lovely little village with shops and eateries. Even the library is just a short walk away. When we moved in, the Marketing Director, Tammy, was very helpful and professional in easing the stress of the transition, and she continues to be someone you can count on to be dedicated to keeping the Chateau running smoothly in support of the residents. In fact, we find this to be true of the staff in general who manage and maintain this pleasant community.
