Do NOT send your loved ones to Chardon Healthcare. In three weeks there, I was not bathed or showered. In three weeks there, my clothes were not changed. Garbage left on the floor for weeks. No housekeeping. My room was never cleaned. Urinal not emptied for days. Bed linens never changed. Food was totally inedible. Had to order food out from UberEats or Door Dash or I wouldn’t eat. Food always cold. Extremely poor nutritional food selection. Boiled cabbage is not a nutritionally adequate vegetable. Staff often lied to Medicare regarding my participation in physical therapy causing my therapy to be discontinued. So much more that is too much to state here. Wish I could post pictures. No matter what the administration says in rebuttal, they lie No consistency in nurses or aids. Had a different nurse (LPN) and aid every shift, every day. Only had a same staff member rarely meaning from what I’ve been told, they are using agency staff members. Not full time staff. Can they not hold on to permanent staff? No continuity in care as a result. Had an attack of cardiac angina at night. Took (agency nurse and aid) over one hour to get me nitro to ease my angina pain. Took over one hour to reach an off site on call doctor. Had a severe abdominal pain incident and took over one hour for an on call doctor to be called who never responded. Finally, 911 had to be called to take me to the hospital. As a result, I have multiple health (including cardiac) issues which are being thankfully addressed by a very competent hospital staff. I am NOT returning to Chardon Healthcare. Care manager at the hospital is finding me a 5 star facility. One more thing; I do not care what the response to my post is from management because, THEY LIE !!! And I’m not the first person to post that!!!

Do not bring anyone here for care. My grandpa was not taken care of while being there for a week or so. Left in the same overnight diaper for 4 days!!! He hadnt been given a bath the whole time he was there. While I visited him the place was gross. Floors hadnt been swept or mopped. My aunt took out the trash multiple times. He just had hip surgery and hadnt been out of bed walking or even in his wheelchair. Worst place ever.
I was a resident in the Chardon Healthcare Center for 17days in April, 2024. The nurses and staff were all very friendly and cheerful which helps a patient feel better. One staff member particularly stood out from the crowd and was exceptionally kind and very Caring , namely, Ms. Angel Watson. The floors were dry or wet moped regularly and the facility was kept clean and tidy. Food was pretty good most days.
My husband was placed in Chardon Healthcare Center three months ago. It’s been a difficult three years of illness for my husband and it was a tough decision, but the transition was extremely smooth. My husband can be difficult and is a very picky eater. He is very well taken care of and the staff at Chardon go out of their way to accommodate his fussiness. Sure, sometimes on visits he may be wearing something that does not belong to him, but I would much rather see him happy and well taken care of than worry if a tshirt does not belong to him. The entire staff have gone out of their way to make sure he is happy, safe, and comfortable. Thank you to each and every employee for taking such exemplary care of my dear husband.
The staff have been very nice to my mother. I feel bad for them to have so few trying to cover everything. I gave them only a 3 because the food they give my mother is just terrible and every meal she has gotten has been cold. What they say is being served on the menu is frequently replacing the main entree replaced with two slices of bread with some mystery lunch meat, no cheese, no vegetables and no condiments included. Also, because they are short staffed it takes at least 10 to 15 minutes for someone to respond to her help button. I truly feel bad for Mom having to be there. Me, my sister and our children are trying to cover meals for her so she is actually getting nutrious warm meals. For what they are getting paid a day she deserves decent meals and staff to help with her needs. Everytime I have been there her bathroom is disgusting.
