Making the decision to put a loved one in a memory care facility is very difficult, but choosing Certus at Waterford Lakes was the best decision I made for my father. The facility itself is so well thought out for Alzheimer/Dementia patients, giving them a very warm and welcoming feeling. More importantly though was the level of care that my father received there, from beginning to the end. The staff treated him like family, making him feel loved and respected. When I would visit everyone was always so friendly, and when I left I felt confident and secure that he was safe and happy. The Wellness Director was there for us every step of the way, answering all of my questions and making sure all of my fathers physical and mental needs were being taken care of. My father has since past away, but at the end when he needed hospice they recommended Cornerstone, and I cannot say enough amazing things about them either! Choosing the right memory care unit is so important and I can say without a doubt that Certus is one of the best places for your loved one, and would highly recommend them!

I couldn’t of dreamed of a better place for my Mom. She previously was in two other care facilities in Texas and when I moved to Florida, I was nervous about what I’d find to be honest. CERTUS is absolutely the most wonderful home for her. The caretakers, nurses and staff are so attentive and loving. Every single person knows my Moms name and I just love that. Every time I am there, they have activities from singing, dancing, chair exercise, arts & crafts and more! I adore the activity leaders Kami and Kyle, who always always help my Mom do stuff when she doesn’t necessarily know what to do, they always jump in! LeeAnn at the front desk is the best, always helpful and smiling and lends her ear when some days are just hard for me navigating my Mom’s Alzheimer’s. I highly recommend CERTUS if you are looking for a home for your loved one.
Certus at Waterford Lakes in Orlando is an exceptional community for those in need of memory care. Both of my parents were residents there, and my family and I could not have been more pleased with the care they received at Certus. Without exception, every single employee who you encounter at Certus shows love, compassion, and professionalism to the residents and to their families. They make the residents feel cared for and treat them like family, with dignity and respect. The environment is more like a home than an “institution” or a business. It’s a community of caregivers who truly care. There’s no need for me to single out a few outstanding employees, because it’s literally the entire staff! Every staff member is an expert at what they do. Upon moving in, the care team quickly got to know both of my parents and provided them with exactly the environment they needed. Unbeknownst to us, the facility my parents lived in prior to Certus was essentially neglecting them to the point of rapid decline. My mother, in particular, was suffering from malnutrition, dehydration, and medicine mismanagement. Certus quickly put her on a rigid schedule to ensure that she received precisely what she needed to thrive. She has made a remarkable turnaround since moving into Certus, so much so that she is now relocating an assisted living facility. The Certus team is excellent when it comes to communicating with the family. They let us know what’s going on and if there’s anything we need to take care of. They handle everything from medication management to coordination with visiting physicians. The environment is clean, attractive, and cheery. It’s a joy to watch the staff interact with the residents with such genuine love. I cannot praise Certus enough – there’s no place quite like it.
There is no greater gift than knowing that your loved one is in a safe, loving, compassionate, caring environment when you cannot be there yourself. At CERTUS Waterford Lakes, the staff is very well trained in providing the highest level of health, wellness and safety, but always interacting lovingly with residents of the community. I have learned so much about caring for seniors and those with memory care needs and I am often left wondering how they do it every day, with such a positive loving attitude. That is what CERTUS Waterford Lakes was for my father, Jim Fry. He knew was loved by his caregivers right up to the minute of his passing. My mom has been in Certus since last January, and the improvement in her health and well-being has been impressive. In the beginning we were full of doubts of should we take Mom out of our house and place her in a home, are we doing the right thing? It has been a journey for the entire family, but has become a very pleasant and great journey for my Mom's physical and mental health. The facilities and the level of care she is receiving there cannot be compared to what she would have if she stayed at home. So glad we made the decision. Thanks to all the staff and medical personnel.
