My mother-in-law was treated unfairly and, frankly, inhumanely. Making matters worse, the staff - namely NANCY - was rude, unprofessional and bullied my mother-in-law. The facility SAYS they do a lot of checking on their residents - THEY DON’T. And when you challenge them, they know the system inside and out and essentially force you out. I have tried to discuss our issues and experiences multiple times with ownership, but calls AND PERSON-to-PERSON messages go answered,. Owners hide behind their LLC. Do yourself a favor and don’t buy the pig with nice lipstick.
My grandfather has been at the facility for roughly 5 years now. The staff is very welcoming and make my experience as well as my grandfathers very enjoyable! They treat him very well and he has a loft of fun! During the pandemic things have changed for the better and they are being very careful. Definitely recommend!
My family and I recently had to remove my grandma from Century Oaks because of how terribly they have handled caring for her. My grandma required hands-on care (she has the start of dementia, but is able to walk with a walker). We obviously supported the lockdown down when the pandemic began in order to ensure safety. However, since March she was kept in her room. No social interaction with staff (besides meal drop-off and medication). So many other facilities have used creative ways to keep their residents safe & engaged, but this place had no regard for the mental health of residents. We would be less upset over this situation if their rule of staying in applied to the entire facility. BUT, if the resident is considered "independent" they are free to come and go as they please. On many occasions those residents were seen outside sitting in a circle on walkers with masks off. SO, what this says to me, is that the staff did not want to deal with those who could not fully help themselves. Their lack of concern or care for my grandma was evident when we moved her out when an employee said, "Oh, she's been sleeping on the floor in a pile of clothes." It makes me so angry that a facility that is supposed to care for our loved ones can have such disregard for them. On another occasion (before the pandemic) I was visiting my grandma and I heard her roommate fall in the bathroom. I told my grandma to push her help necklace, but it wasn't working. I ran to find someone on the floor to help. We later discovered that both of their "help" necklaces' batteries were dead. If I was not there, the poor woman would have laid on the bathroom floor for who knows how long. They did not take the time to ensure the safety of their residents. We never received update calls or communication unless WE called and reached out. It makes me so sad for people who do not have loved ones who can advocate for them. I will say there were a couple of staff members who were helpful and showed some caring towards her. I know being a caretaker is hard and they do not get paid what they should. However, it is on the facility, administration, and owner to take care of the whole person. I would NOT recommend this facility. I am happy to report since leaving Century Oaks for a smaller facility, my grandma is looking and feeling so much better! **They did not reach out to me as they noted below on 10/21/20. Not much to say anyway...do better for those who are under your care.
Very nice! The rooms so big and nice
