I have been here almost 6 days and it’s not been pleasant. It’s been a struggle to get my medication in a timely manner. There has been an overwhelming amount of miscommunication; and on 5/13 their director of nursing kept telling us that I was prescribed a medication that I have never taken in my life when finally realized she was looking at the wrong chart. Very concerning! In addition I was told that I would have physical therapy daily and I have only had it 3 times.

Lovely people but the business model screams “dont send your loved one here”. Why? Because the decision makers are almost impossible to find. I left in an ambulance to return to the hospital. I was genuinely afraid for my safety. My blood sugar was way out of control. In, fact it was so high my glucose monitoring (gcm) only registered to 400 and was flat lined there for 3 of the six days I was there. I recognize that MY ability to maintain an average 150-170 for years was inconsequential to them because they considered 300-350 as no big thing. For brittle diabetics, 300 plus is where strokes and heart attacks happen. It was like talking to a tree stump. This is my opinion. Others may have a better experience.
The staff comes across as being pleasant enough to our faces. But while I have observed them , not one seems to have any urgency in the performance of their duties, responsibilities, to indicate a desire to be exceptional. Their pace is really one of indifference bordering on seeming annoyed.
One week at St Luke's Hospital and 7 weeks at Cascadia of Nampa rehab. That's what my wife did after falling and breaking her pelvis and 3 ribs. The facility and staff were amazing for us. The facility was neat and clean, the staff was very professional, friendly to the point that we made lots of very good staff friends, and the rehab was so good that we are doing outpatient rehab now. Over the 25 years as a master electrician I have had crews into 3 hospitals and 5 nursing/rehab facilities. Cascadia of Nampa was the best run, cleanest, most professional facility that I have been in. I would recommend this facility to anyone including my mother. They are the best of the best.
The staff of Cascadia of Nampa have truly been the most refreshing staff I’ve seen at a facility by far. They genuinely care for every single staff member as well as all of the residents, they have been nothing short of welcoming to anyone I’ve seen throughout the facility. It’s a well structured environment with a high morale and incredible amounts of positivity.
