Very disappointed in the care my mother received. She was recovering from an ankle surgery, and couldn’t stay at home on her own. She was fine otherwise. She was treated like she was in a incapacitate State. The bed was uncomfortable for her. She tried to purchase a mattress topper from Amazon, and they wouldn’t let her. A physical therapist tried to get her to wear a dirty sock, which is beyond disgusting. I’d assume they do that for everyone. A nurse was going through my mother’s stuff in the middle of the night and my mom (who as I mentioned before is NOT in a geriatric state) caught her. So my mother had to sleep with her Valuables close. Absolutely ridiculous. They also tried to cancel her doctor’s appointment and extend her stay. They have no right to do that. She said the majority of the staff (except for a select few. She was vocal on if she had a good staff member for the day or not.) was incredibly rude and talked down to her. My mother is intelligent and again, NOT in a geriatric state. I understand that many patients might be. However, as a healthcare worker you have to be adaptable quickly. That didn’t happen. The food was also terrible. So in summary I Would NOT recommend.

We had a very positive experience at the Carriage Inn of Steubenville recently . My husband stayed there approximately 4 weeks on the TCU following orthopedic surgery. The admissions coordinator was very helpful and kind. The nursing staff was very knowledgeable and approachable addressing any concerns we had. The Medical director did a great job guiding us through this journey and taking time address any concerns. My husband received both Occupational and Physical therapy during his stay. The therapy gym was clean and had up to date equipment. The therapy team did a great job helping my husband work towards and meeting his goals. They were very professional and empathetic. The therapy Manager was available and helpful with any questions. Dietary department was very helpful also, and the activity department very friendly. My husbands private room was very spacious, accommodating, clean and quiet. The private balcony was a plus. Housekeeping did a great job of keeping the room and hallway clean and free of any odors. During a time like this it requires much patience, kindness, empathy and professionalism. The Carriage Inn went above and beyond our expectations. Definitely recommended.
My brother was at the facility after a hospital stay. The staff were really friendly and professional and they gave my brother excellent care. His room was roomy and clean. The whole facility seemed to be very well maintained. A special thank you to Vicky, the social worker. She was amazing!
At first glance, clean, roomy rooms. The aides were fabulous, attentive and timely as possible. Some that we thought were in charge of my father- in- law’s care were med techs. My father-in-law was there for skilled nursing after a week in the hospital for dementia. Prior to the hospitalization, he was caring for himself in his home. Our first meeting with the “ multidisciplinary” team was a little cold. My father- in - law had been there two weeks of possibly several months to come, the room was quiet, no one introduced themselves, they were all looking at their devices or computers, and I had to ask their names. The first thing that was said, was the social worker asked what was our plan for his eventual discharge. We told them we were under the impression that the meeting was about the care he was receiving from them in order to help us plan. So a little disturbing. Once resolved. . . The speech therapist, Kaitlyn, who apparently spoke for all therapies, shared with us her notes, quietly. In her notes, she wrote that she presented patient with puzzles and books and he was uncooperative with her. She then told me she thinks he is offended by her “sleeve” tattoos, and refuses to work with her. My husband and I informed her that he was a working class truck driver, middle school education who has never read a book or sat long enough to put a puzzle together. Certainly in the demented state we are now finding him, he would not! This continued throughout his stay at Carriage inn, where she continued to treat him with puzzles and books and dubbed him uncooperative. . . He frequently voiced his fear of her, she doesn’t like him, and as weeks went on, more drugs were added to his regimen r/t hallucinations and uncooperative. We were not offered another therapist, and we transferred him as soon as possible because he regressed there. We cannot be sure if it was his disease process or care, but two weeks after entering carriage inn, we helped my father in law walk with his walker, doing 2 laps in the hallways on that floor. When he left after 8 weeks, he is wheelchair bound and total lift.
Carriage Inn of Steubenville is a wonderful facility we recently utilized for skilled care. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Management is very knowledgeable and has helped us every step of the way with any question we had. The administrator of the facility was readily available upon admission and during the entire stay, to help in any way she could. She made things much easier on the family. I would highly recommend this facility.
