My mom lives here and I'm disgusted at how much she has endured lately. From the property manager Donna having the nastiest attitude to the nasty roach infestation and mold. When dealing with the elderly if you don't have compassion about the environment of the facility they live in you should not be working in a place as such. Most of the residents are afraid to speak up in fear of getting put out. This place is not fit for animals much less our elderly love ones. This place should be shut down and fixed the right way or shut down completely.. State inspectors,health inspectors,and the fire inspector NEED TO BE INVOLVED!! If you have a family member at Carolina Springs please check on them.....I mean really check on them. In Total disbelief and angry!!!!

My mom has lived here since 2006 This is absolutely the worst this place has been. My mom is visually impaired. Not only does she have mold from the rain coming in from her patio door( which was never fixed). Roaches fall from the open ceiling where maintenance drills. Now, she has water throughout her apartment from the faulty pipe work of the maintenance staff. They have yet to return our calls. The water has been off most of the day as always. Now, my mom has water throughout her apartment ( new carpet destroyed). In her kitchen bathroom down her hall, there is no call back from PM or maintenance 😑 Unbelievable a mess.
As of Jan 9-11 the new office manager started asking demanding I show her proof of rent so to prove I didn't pay when her own financial printout does not show NSF or non-payment. She first accused me of not paying Dec 2021 rent and Jan 2022 rent. Then she added another two months over the last four months stating the checks bounced or were paid late and added in late fees other amounts . Guess what? She didn't know what checks were mine and what is sec 8 and I proved what was mine and the procesed correctly and on time. Now she is demanding I proove April,May June was not paid or I bounced.I got that info again from the bank and it was paid.She knows she is short money and she tried to call my bank for more of my cancelled checks:again the rent is not listed as NSF or non payment.She is verbally demanding I keep providing proof and pay with money orders because she is sure it is my fault money is missing. From here on I want all financial record requests in writing and with reasons.She won't deal with sec 8 directly even though this is a sec 8 tax exempt building for 55 and older.Why doesn't she have an audit done for the other managers employment period? Why do I have to prove my paid rent is not NFS when my rent has been fully paid for the last 15 years in what ever location I have rented. I have never had to get extra help with the rent and I pay my rent portion out of my disability and SSA and now SSA and a job I have been working sense Nov 2020.l am almost 68 and being harassed even though I have good credit, references, am quiet, don't smoke, drink alcohol or do drugs. I don't think what she is doing or how she is going about it is legal. Her actions must be violating my rights and public fair affordable sec 8 housing objectives, by-laws and our leases. A lso Carolina Spring Senior apartments staff, maintainance don't wear masks the majority of the time and when they do it's under their chins. Are they trying to infect the unvaccinated seniors (medical reasons)? 0ur mayor, governor asked all employees or people congrating inside to wear masks because the new daily positive cases are sky high.
I have visited and cleaned spaces for some clients and I think that all the tubs should be changed out to stand up or roll in showers for the seniors for safety. The spaces are always clean and residents are kind.
Corruption is as bad as the roaches that infest that building. Tenants are aggressive, Owners don't care about the garbage in the place. Building is run down. It is very neglected . some corporation should tear it down and build luxury condos there.
