Our family loves Canterfield! The staff is warm, familial, and attentive to the wants and needs of each resident. Each staff member seems to be able to quickly recall a resident's name, room number, food preferences, and medicinal requirements on cue. There is a wide array of social activities daily; I always look forward to seeing what the posted memo in the elevator is going to say about the events of the next few days (not to mention the food specials, which are delicious!). The whole Canterfield Team shares duties and responsibilities seamlessly; I have witnessed staff members on several occasions serve a role outside of their designated title in order to quickly accommodate someone in need, as if their team motto is "I've got your back". Both of our parents started out there together, and our dad has since passed. The care for dad right up through his hospice was intentional and compassionate. We were even able to hold his memorial service in the Canterfield theater since it was unscheduled for an event on the day we chose. My siblings and I are all out of state, and the staff has absolutely made it their mission to constantly check in with mom make sure she is OK, keeping her social and active while processing through her grief. We have chosen to keep her at Canterfield even though it doesn't make geographical sense for us; some decisions are made on gut feeling alone and we just really like what our collective gut says about Canterfield. Mom's smiles only reinforce our decision!

Canterfield is a beautiful senior housing facility with an EXCEPTIONAL staff. My parents had reached a point where they needed care assistance that exceeded what they were receiving in their previous assisted living facility. The thought of moving them was scary, I had no knowledge of the reputation of facilities in the Fort Myers area. I turned to CAREPatrol Senior Placement Organization (Suzy) for guidance in my search for a reputable facility. Upon my first visit to Canterfield, I was impressed with the decor and cleanliness of the facility. The true difference that I have found here is the dedication of the Canterfield staff. Each staff member is extraordinary. Medical professionals regularly visit residents within their apartment to ensure each individual is thriving and feeling their best. Moving my parents here has given me comfort as they are now part of the Canterfield family.
My mother was in assisted living at Canterfield for two months. As her son and holder of her health care proxy I was directly involved in her health care. Both mom and I were very impressed with the care she received during her stay at Canterfield. I visited daily and was able to evaluate very carefully the level of care mom was given. We were so pleased with the different teams of nurses and nurses assistants that overcame mom’s severe health problems. They always treated her with patience, care and compassion despite her extensive needs. I also want to thank Jessica A. who was always available when I had a question or unique request. At the end of July we were faced with an emergency. My mother in law needed extensive care and could no longer live alone. She had been in and out of the hospital and rehab. I visited Canterfield and was immediately welcomed and provided all the information and help that I needed. Beginning of August she moved in.She was on hospice care and quickly became bed ridden. Although she should have been in a nursing home, they allowed her to stay. The staff was so kind and took such good care of her. Anytime I needed anything,they were there to help. My mother in law passed away in December,and again ,they showed compassion and support. I will miss the kind people I met at Canterfield and would recommend it to anyone who needs assistance with everyday life. They really try to keep things interesting with activities thorough out the day. It really felt like a home and not a hospital setting. We are so thankful that my mother in law’s last few months were in a homey atmosphere. Thank you , Canterfield for giving her that.
My MIL needed placement after an ER visit. Jessica was so helpful and readily available whenever I had questions. The staff at Canterfield made my MIL feel welcomed and helped her to settle in. Every time we go see her, the facilities are clean, bright and new. We’ve eaten dinner with her and the food is great! Our family is grateful to Jessica and all of the caring staff at Canterfield!
