The unexpected happened. An accident left me with 2 broken ankles and a crushed Tibial plateau. No weight bearing at all for 6 weeks. Jim Wiginton was dealt a broken arm. After surgery and rehab we were able to be home, but how would we take care of ourselves? Laima Aleksa , my friend, Zumba instructor, and Social Service Worker with Cantata Adult Life Services knew exactly how to help us. She informed our mutual friends what had happened and when they asked how they could help, Laima suggested that if they would want to contribute to a fund set up at Cantata Home Services, Jim and I could use Cantata Home Services that would be beneficial to us. We decided that help with meals was our major concern. Laima arranged for Dan Urban, Director of sales and Marketing with Cantata Adult Life Services, to contact me to explain the procedure. Dan called and explained the process and answered all of my questions. Dan emails the menu for lunch and dinner for the next week on Wednesdays. We email back what meals we would like to have for the next week. Jim and I have been ordering 2 dinners for 1 or 2 times a week . These meals are not only tasty, well balanced and healthy, but are also delivered to our door by a Cantata employee with a smile! Once our gift account is used, we are able to set up our own account to continue service we might want. This gift has been a blessing, a comfort and very important to our healing process and well being.
Zero stars ... As a pharmacy technician for long term care this is the most awful place I have ever seen. I feel extremely bad for the patients who have to live there. And unfortunately my grandmother was placed here against her will. The place is understaffed and they negotiate people's health like a car dealership. the facility has made my family extremely uncomfortable. They have one dear CNA and I thank God for her and a few dear nurses ! But that's the only good I have seen. And since they are understaffed I've had to double check everything for my grandmother when I'm there because staff is sitting down on the phone and paying no attention. And you should know The whole administration is Very unprofessional and manipulative not to mention they have staff Sleeping at the nurses station on the desk ,on the job. Also they have random strangers from a temp agency come in every day to cover the shifts to fill in. As of yesterday I see The administration lies to the families in order to maintain control over the patient and to generate revenue from the patient and family.. insurance companies must be having field days with this place. And the POA was able to pay 2 months up front without her knowledge and her permission. Now mind you this is on the insurance's dime before they deemed the patient with dementia . Be careful where you put your loved ones. they also have a Very sneaky Social worker named lima and a " Buisness woman "administrator (as she put it) named Isabelle who calls the POA first if you call the facility to speak with them and have questions. Very unprofessional customer service, so make sure you have a POA you can trust. when the patient has good cognitive memory , active thinking , can sign her full name in cursive and a will to live , they slowly try to take away they're independence. She's not terminally ill and has a family who can care for her at home. If The POA ignores all family requests so they do as well. The Staff recently put up signs saying no cameras so know that before you go 😉 the kitchen seems to be is out of order the first week there, turning lights off early before visiting hours end so family will leave and feel uncomfortable . Noticed it was not stocked everyday for the patients, rooms are not cleaned , floors aren't mopped, staff loses laundry , and belongings, takes days before laundry returns. I even found her clothes on the roommates side of the room set up for the next day . And the nurses forget the names of the medications. While the doctor switches medications and makes symptoms worse. She also caught C-DIFF twice and they accept patients that arent ready to be released from hospitals and are contagious it is all a game with these places. Do not recommend at all. For your loved ones.
My family high recommends Cantata's Fluff & Tuck program for any family who doesn't need full time care, wants help that is patient and kind, and brings relief to the main care taker (my mom) at a reasonable price. A CNA (my mom and dad love Nelly) comes to the house about 8:30am to get my dad dressed and ready for the day (Fluff), then they leave. Another helper returns about 10:30pm to help him get to bed (Tuck). Dad doesn't need full time care and mom doesn't want someone sitting around the house (doing nothing) all day. (Who can afford full time care anyway?) My dad needed help but my mom, as the main care taker, needed help too. Care taking is hard! The Cantata ladies help both of my parents.
I had Cantata services for an electrical problem and I was very satisfied with their work. I also had work done in my condo thru our association in cleaning my dryer vent, this too was done very competently. I have to say I would not hesitate to call them again.
