Warm, friendly, fabulous views from most rooms. All rooms have balconies! And, the food is really good. What’s not to like? Calaroga Terrace is one of a kind. Lovely old building with beautifully updated rooms and right across the Steel Bridge from downtown Portland. Oh, and a beautiful, large outdoor terrace, as well. I definitely have found my forever home here.

As someone who's worked in the healthcare industry in Portland for many years, I've always found Calaroga Terrace easy to work with. Debby, Jason & the rest of the team are always very courteous & professional. If you're looking for senior living options in the Portland Metro Area, I'd encourage you to check them out.
This place is a dream come true for my sister who formerly, was in 2 different abusive adult foster care homes. She keeps saying, "I can't believe it's real, I can't believe it's true..." This is by far, the most beautiful, friendly, incredible place of its kind my entire family has ever seen. It's like living in a 5 star hotel with a host of people who are your friends, and that includes residents and staff! The activities are incredible, cool, different and engaging! The food is prepared by brilliant chefs! The amenities are too numerous to mention. The staff are all friendly and they call the residents by name and encourage friendships within the residents. I simply can't say how happy we are with this beautiful facility and its incredibly caring, helpful, professional, delightful staff. Much love and many thanks to each and every one. ABSOLUTELY FILTHY!!!! For 5+yrs my step father at Calistoga Terrace on NE 2nd Ave. These rooms r purportedly cleaned EVERY week. These r pictures of the state of his apt on 5/6/23. I removed over 20 garbage bags full of old cups, food containers, and assorted other trash, including rotten fruit and food. I took them to the dumpsters outside because they smelled better then the stench of the garbage shute on his floor. I made my complaints clear and was assured the executive director, would contact me on Monday. He did not. I left 4 messages 4 him that day. 11 days later, I’m STILL waiting!!!
Want to give a shout out to Debby Beer at Calaroga Terrace. She helped us coordinate a move for a friend after his assisted living facility was closed unexpectedly, which made finding a new place for him to live immediately necessary. Debby was a dream to work with and made his transition to Calaroga Terrance as smooth as could be. She loves what she does, is professional, knowledgeable, and is truly passionate about helping the residents of and newcomers to her facility. We feel so lucky to have had Debby on our side during this upsetting time in our friend's life. I cannot recommend her highly enough if you are looking to place a senior in an assisted living or independent living facility.
