If you're lucky enough to get a room on the 3rd floor, you may have an OK experience. Do not leave your loved ones on the second floor if you care about them. Absolutely awful experience. Staff were hostile, disorganised and had zero systems in place for recording things - hence my mother did not get her needs met on a range of simple basic things, such as timing of medication, her simple food preferences for meals and her bed time routine. The food served to my mum was gross. Congealed inedible dinners and cold toast with butter but no utentcils to spread it with. Mum is in a wheelchair and dependent on carers. On her second night her call button was faulty, it was taken away for hours and not replaced, mum then had a fall trying to go to the toilet because no one came to check on her and she couldn't call. Residents calling out HELP ME all night long, alarms going off right outside her room from 9pm to 6am... a nightmare. So if you want to introduce your loved one to aged care via a positive respite experience - beware level 2 at BUPA Queens Park. Even the staff told me as I took mum home they thought the place was terrible. That's got to be a bad sign.
I am writing to show my appreciation for the work of the staff at Bupa Queens Park in relation to the care of my mother Teresina Mattei. The last few months have been difficult for many people, especially those working in aged care facilities, many of which have come in for severe criticism for poor service delivery. Notwithstanding this situation, my mother has been extremely happy with the service that she has received at Queens Park from all the staff which has made her life comfortable, secure and enjoyable. My only criteria for assessment of your facility and staff is the comfort, wellbeing and happiness of my mother, and in these criteria your facility has exceeded my expectations. The quality of service provided by Bupa Queens Park is a product of the staff who work there and the expertise and experience that they bring to their work, and for that, you and your staff have my wholehearted thanks and appreciation.
This is a very pleasant and clean facility that will cater to your needs. My mother was here for 6 weeks respite and they cared for her very well and did their best to satisfy our requests. Mum loved it and the family was very happy.
Thank you to all the staff at Bupa Queens Park. You have managed to keep our loved ones safe and happy during this difficult lockdown period. We are always impressed by your creativity with the activities and entertainment that you provide. The interaction between the staff and the residents is just lovely to see and the kindness shown is so heart-warming. Even though you are incredibly busy, you are still available to talk to us when we have questions or concerns. We are so grateful to all of you for your care and professionalism. Bournazos family
