My dad was recently discharged sick! He came home sick and without his belongings. Somehow all of his NEW clothes and blanket disappeared. Message regarding his missing clothes was ignored before his discharge. I'm wondering if clothes were given to anther patient even after being labeled. Mary Washington Hospital gave me no choice except to have him go there for rehab.

This place seems like a real nightmare. My aunt was placed there recently and since has fallen many times and given no explanation for it. She’s been taken to the hospital emergency room and overall not getting good care at this place. When I see her, she looks dirty, very skinny (possibly not being supervised while fed) and always with a new bruise, lose teeth etc. it’s unbelievable how this place is still open and running. They need to be sued and seriously investigated-they don’t even have cameras in place!
My father has been in nursing care at Brookside for about six weeks. The transition to care has been hard for him and our family, but Social Services Director Bianca Bishop has been a wonderful partner and advocate for us. From our first tour through several emails, calls and meetings, she has always listened and shown that she cares about our father’s well-being. Navigating Alzheimer’s and nursing care is never easy, but Bianca has helped us to feel like we’re not alone in wanting the best for our dad. We’ve been equally impressed with the willingness of the administrator and the nursing leaders to collaborate with us in finding solutions to challenges we’re experiencing. Right now my father is as happy as he can be at this stage of life, and we’re grateful for what Brookside is doing to ensure that continues.
DO NOT send your loved ones here. The facility is DISGUSTING, staff couldn’t care less about helping the patients there, they are clearly there just to collect a paycheck. They take no pride in what they do and act annoyed when you ask for anything. They don’t provide nutritional meals for their patients and have been known to not even give patients the correct medication they should be receiving. I don’t understand why restaurants have health inspections but nursing homes don’t. The care my grandmother received here was beyond awful. The only person I ever saw that displayed care and compassion for the patients there was the activity director Beth. I wish the nurses or actually I’m not even sure they are actual nurses, more like paycheck collectors would take more pride in their jobs and provide quality care.
During my mom’s stay at Brookside for rehab, the nurses and staff were amazing! They truly cared about mom’s well being and progress. The memory care team were attentive and patient with her. It was a very pleasant experience for my family.
