Barely average in the world of assisted living. Financially, the feel is a pyramid operation, the money is at the top. While there, my mum loved it socially. Employees quitting at an alarming rate, clear that someone across town paid $1 more an hour, they were out. Others stayed on, including a whistleblower who I think was blowing into the air. A few workers, highly committed. On the surface pretty spot, underneath underpaid employees, mom in hospital for pneumonia and upon moving her out.....mold found throughout her room. Nurses failed several times to notify me when she had to be transferred to the hospital. The rotating of older hurricane prep canned food was pretty bad and I'm so sure the CEO not eating canned peas and old hot dogs on a Saturday night. The nurses were solid with head bobs. Residents lovely people trying to find their way each day. Average for the industry of grab as much money as possible from the elderly until they run out or pass on. A scam in an industry of scam, filling a need. Because of the stress family members are going through, they seem to know that you are depleted when dealing with them. Ethics complaints were made with no response. Keep in mind, the contracts for these places have the legal binding power of a casual roommate agreement. In hindsight, should have sent mum back home to the northeast with more support services there. NOTE: I have called several times, reported to their "ethics hotline" and the response is just that, as read below. The response was never followed up on their part. Never. Just words.

This facility is beyond what I ever expected in senior care for my mom. Everyone has shown so much love and understanding from the first day I walked through the. door. Cha'Ron and her staff are superb!
I was looking for an assisted for my Dad and stopped by Brookdale in Ormond Beach. I met with the Executive Director and after talking with her and observing the friendly staff, this is where I’d want my Dad to be. Thank you for making this decision for us.
We visited many assisted living places before deciding on Brookdale. It has turned out to be a great choice for my uncle. It’s a smaller community, close to amenities. All staff have been friendly and helpful, from Les helping me prepare my uncles room for move in, Joanne and Kerrie for all my questions and all other staff being personable and taking time and having attention for peoples personal needs here. Evening crew has been slightly less responsive, but Barbara is always there 🙏 I drop in at all times and days and I hear the staff make jokes and laugh with the residents. They offer plenty activities and shuttle service to doctor visits and shopping. My uncle is happy here and feels safe and comfortable. That’s what matters most.
CVS told us my antibiotic had been mailed and delivered, but I never got it. Mary tracked it down and found out they hadn’t even sent it. She drove by, picked up the prescription, and brought it to me. Service over and above!!!! Kudos to Mary the nurse.
