Our mother was at Brookdale Lakeway Rehab and Skilled Nursing for nearly 3 months (late 2022 into early 2023) working to physically recover and rehab from a significant stroke. From the start staff in the business office, front office, therapy, discharge office and nursing were kind, warm, responsive, and attentive to our mother and her case. The care team met with us as often as needed and helped us understand progress and lay out continued plans to support further progress. Rooms were small and homey, not much was needed but we were able to easily make our mom comfortable during her stay. The staff and care team was the most important part of our stay, they communicated, were transparent with us, and supportive of our work toward next steps and eventual discharge to another brookdale assisted living property. We are incredibly grateful to have been able to work with the team and staff at Brookdale and thankful for their care and support. Recommend this facility to help with your loved ones, also recommend leaning in with kindness and warmth to any team you seek advisement and support from - there is no way to be disappointed when everyone is collectively on the same team to support your loved one.
Excellent Physical/Occupational Therapy recovery for non elderly post surgery. My young 62 yr old husband fractured his hip and needed temporary assistance to get stronger before coming home. My initial thoughts of skilled nursing were - ONLY for elderly and wouldn’t be rigorous therapy. I was WRONG - the therapy quality and quantity was EXCELLENT (I’m a 2 time knee surgery/ACL skier who KNOWS rehab). Yes there are elderly patients as part of mix and nothing is perfect but husband even liked the food. Mission accomplished - got my husband Stronger Faster in a safe way since he was non weight bearing on surgery leg. Personnel were beyond my expectations - knowledgeable, professional and proactive. Great transitional recovery! Even practiced getting in/out of car, steps etc so he would be more successful once home. My lesson learned - Don’t judge a book by its cover!
Was generally happy with the general staff, nursing staff and physical therapists. Very happy with the staff doctor. The food was quite good. The room was comfortable. The only suggestion I would make is that the rooms be cleaned more thoroughly top to bottom between occupants. The blinds and high horizontal surfaces hadn't been cleaned in a while, and the room smelled musty.
Place was disgusting, no amenities provided for my Mother who could not walk without assistance. Was told that it was too late in the day and alot of paperwork would have to be filled out. Instead of bed rails, the nurse offered to lower the bed as far as it would go and bring mattresses in for each side. We did not leave my Mother there! It was obvious the nurse was put out by us being there! It's a shame that this place is still in business! BEWARE!
