My grandfather was in their facility for 2 days before leaving due to lack of response and care. Paid 15,000 up front for 2 months. Now they are saying we owe 2,000 more. Ummm excuse me, he only stayed for 2 days and died a week later. So even if we did keep him there... We should be getting money back, because math. 8380.00 for each month of 15 grand and change Thank you for making this huge loss hurt so much more.

My expierence at Brookdale Kenwood is one of the Best things I have done in my lifetime. If you want to feel good about yourself have your loved one here where the care is awesome. You won't be sorry. Chuck
This is a great place ! So many of the staff are truly warm and caring people who treat the residents like family. I found it remarkable that even the kitchen staff were so friendly and attentive. The residents have a nice selection of activities to participate in. The building always feels bright, clean, and fresh. I have been visiting a dear friend at this facility since 2014 so I have spent a lot of time there. I can't say enough great things about it. If my parents needed memory care/ assisted living, this facility would be one of the top on my list.
When you first get there, you will smell cookies. You will then want to EAT those cookies. This community is very very nice and appearance is very much like an old estate. The staff is friendly and really genuinely trying to do their best by serving the residents. You will see the staff walking dogs, serving meals and even having lemonade on the porch! The memory care is one of the most unique areas to see, as it is a gem. The director of memory care is smart as a whip and really assists with understanding dementia. This is very refreshing! I felt like other places just put locks on their hallways and hoped for the best. Ourr family is not quite ready to put my parents in a place, but when we do this will be our first choice.
My father has ended up with MRSA from a infection due to severe negligence from their staff. He is now having to have surgery to remove all the necrotic tissue in his foot. He had bed sores that haven't been treated for months, which likely could have potentially become infected with MRSA as well had we not gotten him to a hospital. Hopefully the infection doesn't travel to the bone etc. I was lied to about when he was on medications they told me he was on, antibiotics, which he in actuality got for a few days, then they were stopped. He had to wait hours for a response on his pages, literally over an hour most of the time when he called for help. At night he couldn't sleep because everyone in the halls was yelling for help and the staff never came. We tried to address this with management and all they did was offer up excuses, "Oh we're going through staffing changes, oh, we're doing our best." They would not give him medications when he needed them or medications were missing and not addressed. He didn't receive his eyedrops for his glaucoma for over 4 days and then they said "Oh, they're missing. That's why he didn't get them." He would not get his pain meds when they were needed, he would sit is his own soil for hours after they didn't come help him to the bathroom. I am so sorry I ever trusted these people with the care of my father. I didn't want to believe it was as bad as he was telling me because I never saw it when I was there most of the time. When I confronted the staff, they didn't deny any of it. They attempted a meek excuse but mostly they wouldn't look me in the eye and stared at the floor when I asked them about everything. This is a horrible place and if you care for your loved one at all, keep them away.
