It's never an easy decision to have a family member need to move to a facility, but our family is very pleased with our decision to choose Brookdale Gardens of Westlake for our mother. Exceptional team members all around, the management team, nursing team, friendly and very helpful receptionists, dining staff very helpful and friendly, plus the delicious food and desserts . Housekeeping, laundry and so many others make up this team. The resident caregivers are very helpful and meet the needs of each resident individual situation. They are fun, friendly and encourage the residents to participate in the many activities that are scheduled each day, whether its playing bingo or daily exercise classes to keep the residents healthy and moving. This facility has a sence of a family atmosphere with the residents helping each other and especially making sure the new residents feel welcome. Everyone is so friendly, kind and compassionate. We feel blessed to be a part of this caring team.

As a musician who provided entertainment I can say the residents were fantastic. Payment system sucks and they are apparently getting rid of it next year. Currently it's been a year and no payment for our performance. Lots of promises, but nothing. I feel sorry for the residents who truly enjoyed the music, but I'd never play there again. No one can help you.....sad
Nice place, but the rent has skyrocketed over the last few years, definitely not worth this place for very poor quality service. The staff has been severely understaffed, it oftentimes takes her 50 minutes to finally get any service, not to mention a few employees are pretty snobby my grandma says. She hasn't been able to use her patio for months, everyone say they'll work on this very soon, then they ignore it. If anyone is considering on having a family member moving there, I highly suggest a different assistant living.
My 93 year old Mother-in-law is currently blessed to be a new (11-2-19) resident to the Gardens @ Westlake. While it isn’t new or newly renovated like many assisted living communities in our area, I have found the “shining” is in each and every employee within the building. From administration to nursing, the “caregivers”, dining room, activities, front desk and even housekeeping staffs are truly the nicest and most passionate people I have ever met! Each and every employee has a REAL and dedicated interest to the residents day in and day out. They have come to feel like family to my MIL, my husband and myself. The quality of care is unmatched and I know she is in loving hands at the beginning and end of everyday. I am grateful to each and every staff member for helping us with this transition after living independently was no longer viable. 🏆😋
My family moved our mom into The Gardens at Westlake November of 2016. The care and attention she has received by all the staff has been fantastic. She needs help getting dressed in the morning, and always has a lovely outfit complete with jewelry and accessories. She is included in activities she enjoys, but is given her privacy when she chooses to take a pass. We are especially pleased with the nursing staff with Poala taking the lead with mom. she is in tune with moms special needs and handles her with respect and dignity. The staff at the front desk, Mary Lou the go to gal, and everyone we have dealt with have been wonderful. We feel very lucky to have found such a great place for our mom to live.
