My mother has been at Brookdale for four months now and I can comfortably offer the following. Brookdale is a medium sized facility that has a secure, pleasant layout all on one level. The property is well kept, properly maintained and quiet. What really stands out is seeing how the staff and management are available, friendly and engaged with the residents. The nursing staff, med techs and attendants have all been very supportive and communicate well with family members. There are plenty of daily activities and special events in which the residents are pleasantly encouraged to participate if they wish. The meals offer some variety and dietary considerations are taken into account. Medications have been properly monitored in coordination with physicians and medical specialist. Honestly, the transition of a loved one into an assisted living facility certainly isn’t easily for a family. But, our experience with Brookdale to date has been wonderful and I’m glad to have the conscientious, educated and caring folks there to help us in this journey. Much appreciated.

Brookdale Fairhaven is a wonderful place. My mom was there for around 5 months and she would have stayed if not for her mobility limitations which could not be accommodated due to her needing a lift. The directors were professional and so accommodating and went out of their way to make sure my mom could initially live there. We were so grateful for ALL of their help and care. The nursing staff and caregivers were attentive, thorough and frequently checked on my mom to make her feel at home. She said she felt like “she was treated like a queen”. I personally witnessed many activities and told friends of my mom that if I lived in Bellingham, I would definitely volunteer to work there. The staff were always cheerful with a smile and greeted me by name upon my many visits. I would highly recommend Brookdale Fairhaven to anyone looking for an assisted living situation. Thanks so much for everything you did during a very difficult time in my family (mom’s)life.
The staff at Brookdale Fairhaven are awesome. They have amazing leadership from the director and the director of nursing services. I am a visiting nurse practitioner in the building and I can’t express how much appreciation I have for the amazing care they provide to the residents. If you are looking for a place for a senior loved one who needs some extra attention…please check them out.
My mom lived at Brookdale Fairhaven for many years. She was really well cared for until she passed away. She suffered from dementia and everyone there did such an amazing job communicating with her and keeping her engaged in daily life. When she reached the end of life they were instrumental in getting hospice involved in her care. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs assisted living for themselves or their loved ones.
My father lived at Brookdale Fairhaven for one year until he died this summer at the age of 90. I am so grateful for the care that they provided to him. Like many elders, he was reluctant to go to assisted-living, but once he was there he thrived. I visited often, and I appreciated the staff there. They kept me informed and they really "got" my dad. If I had concerns, I always felt like there was an open door with the directors. Dad needed a special diet for kidney care and his bloodwork always stayed in range while he lived there. He participated in the many activities and he found new friends. It was wonderful to see how it is possible to thrive at any stage of life. Thank you!
