My mother is at Brookdale Durham. We really want to love this facility and have tried to resolve the issues as I understand that staffing has been a challenge since COVID. The biggest challenge is that her room is very rarely cleaned, sheets are not changed, laundry not done and she is not bathed regularly. When I visit (weekly), I have to clean the room, etc. This could be a lovely facility if they had a housekeeping manager or some type of system in place that checked the rooms regularly, spoke to family, followed up on complaints, etc.
Brookdale Durham has provided care for my mom for almost 9 years! The dedicated caring staff treats her as family. The food, activities offered, maintenance, and the care received are awesome! The front desk staff is also always very helpful. It is very convenient to have Doctors Making House Calls and Home Health offered at the facility! 😀
Juliette and all staff were warm and welcoming on our tour. We were fortunate to visit during the Halloween party which meant we also saw many of the residents and had a good conversation with one when we stopped by the library. Potential residents should give Brookdale Durham a look, and ask for Juliette, she's a treasure.
I have been to Brookdale Durham many times with prospects. Each time the staff is welcoming and engaging. Juliette is a ray of sunshine. Whether she is giving a tour or just walking down the hall, she addresses each resident by name, often stopping to have a quick conversation. The residents & staff love her.
