Placing our mother at Brookdale Chambrel has turned out to be a very positive experience. Because our mother needed additional care to maintain her independence, we enlisted the services of Brookdale At Home, located within the same facility. Caregivers have been compassionate and responsive to any requests we have made on her behalf. Staff have gone above and beyond to make our mother's daily living seamless. Timeca, Christina, and Larissa have all worked hard to ensure she gets the care she needs. We have also found the food service to be quite good, providing a great variety for residents. I can not say enough good things about the activities offered to residents. Music, local trips, games, shows, speakers, and church services, both in the building and transportation to churches in the community, give residents many options. Activities are frequently designed to include family members of residents, from grandchildren on up, Our entire family has been very pleased with Chambrel.

If your loved one needs any kind of individual attention DON’T bring them here to the Memory Care facility. First, the marketing director lied to us about the type of care and frequency of care that my loved one would receive. The staff is absolutely horrible. There was no acknowledgment of us when we arrived. I literally had to track down staff members and asked them for everything we needed. No welcome by anyone. In addition, the facility didn’t even have enough staff to serve dinner. The daughter of one of the residence was forced to serve dinner just to get it out quick enough. Finally, on day three of my loved one being there, and only after bitching and complaining to the head nurse, the facility finally scheduled time for us to create a detailed plan for my loved one. Why was this not done before we moved in? The management of this place is a disaster. Run the other way!
We moved my Mom to Brookdale Chambrel over a year ago after a bad experience at another retirement community in Roswell. We couldn't be happier with our choice. Mom has a large, bright apartment, the staff is very friendly and competent. They go out of their way to provide a good experience for residents and their guests. There's a wide variety of activities on-site and off-site. And everyone (staff and residents) are friendly. I'd also like to recognize the following staff who've gone "above and beyond" providing great service: Timeca W.- one of Mom's caregivers and now Marketing Coordinator, Kathi P., Marketing (she sold us on moving here and helped make Mom's move easier), Kristina M., Resident Svcs., Danielle B.- Concierge, Regina K.- Concierge, and Larissa J.- Brookdale at Home Manager. Thank you.
I agree with James's review. We had so many ups and downs with management. They chronically lack staff, so your loved one will not get much attention and if they are incontinent they will not be consistently clean. High turnover. Many caregivers unhappy. Occasionally there would be a compassionate caregiver but they usually didn't last. Our mother died just before the holidays, and the day after she passed, a piece of furniture was stolen from her room. There was no apology for that. It's unbelievable to us that employees would lay in wait to take things from a recently passed resident. There were also no formal condolences offered by Brookdale, her home of one and a half years. Because of the holidays we could not clear her room out quickly so we asked if we could clear it on a specific day and were told yes. What we were not told is that we would be charged for each day her room had any belongings. An important omission of facts. Don't expect compassion here, only a company that cares about its bottom line, not its employees, not the families, and not their residents.
I have been here a year Oct 16 2024. Lovely apt. Food good. Diffulocty in finding dining partners. Took me 10 months to connect with a group. Most of us enjoy eating with people. I have made connections through book club and Pray for America. Best part is my daughter lives about 2 miles away and pops in often. Enjoy activities offered
