When I first contacted Brightview on New Canaan, I had no idea how assisted living worked or where to even begin. The team immediately provided me with resources and information that proved invaluable. I decided to visit the community in early fall, and I couldn’t have been more impressed. I was feeling overwhelmed, trying to figure out what to do for my in-laws, who are moving from out of state, but Brightview's team made the process feel so much easier. The building itself is stunning, but what really stood out was the warmth and professionalism of the staff. Everyone I met was welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely seemed to care for the residents. It was clear they work together seamlessly, and this is reflected in the happiness and liveliness of the residents. Walking through Brightview felt like home, even to me as a visitor. The community is vibrant, full of smiles and energy, and you can tell that the residents are well cared for. Knowing that they offer a “white glove” moving experience to make the transition smoother gives me even more confidence in choosing Brightview for my in-laws. We’re planning to bring Mom and Dad up this spring, and Brightview is at the top of our list. They’ve thought of everything to make this process as stress-free as possible. Oh, and those signature cookies they sent me home with? A sweet and thoughtful touch that really summed up the care and attention they put into everything they do. Highly recommended! Thank you, Brightview, for making this journey feel so much easier.

We moved our 87 year old mother to Brightview in December 2021. It was the best thing we did for our mom who suffers from vascular dementia. Her short term memory has progressively worsened and the facility she was at prior to Brightview did not notice or adjust her care plan accordingly. As a result, her weight and heath began to decline as well. She was withdrawn and did not want to socialize. Once we moved her to Brightview, the staff was so great with her. They had her out and about all day, mingling and socializing. She was the happiest we have seen her in years. Everyone at Brightview, whether it's the front desk reception, management, or the loving staff, all are exceptional. They actually do care for each one of their residents and they do a wonderful job engaging the residents at all levels. We are so happy our mom was able to live out her last few months at Brightview. She had friends there and she was happy. Thank you all for caring for her so well, to the end!
I enjoy, perhaps, a different perspective when it comes to independent/ assisted living residences. As a musician, I get to interact with the residents on a much different level. I get the opportunity to speak to residents, "off the record" so to speak, while we're setting up or loading out. Every time we perform at Brightview on New Canaan I am impressed with how happy the residents are. Their comments about quality of housing and care are always 5 star. Staff and management are incredibly involved with the well-being of the residents and project a genuine "family" vibe. The local community is also very supportive, often assisting with special events at Brightview. A special nod to Michele Ranieri, Kathy Cureau and the entire staff for their tireless efforts to provide the best care and surroundings for our loved ones. Great job!!!
Brightview is a wonderful place and the caregivers are amazing! My Mother has been in many Memory Units but by far this is the best living and care my Mom has ever had. There is little to no turnover on staff and the staff truly care about the residents and their families.
I’m deeply saddened to have to write this review, but I feel it’s necessary to inform others. My grandmother was a resident at Brightview on New Canaan senior living facility and unfortunately her experience was marred by a distressing incident of theft. A Brightview employee stole her engagement ring directly off her body while she was under their care. It’s important to note that my grandmother never removed her engagement ring, as it wouldn’t fit over her knuckle. When my uncle and mother started to notice missing items from her room they attempted to remove my grandmother's engagement ring, and she winced in pain. It’s deeply troubling and raises concerns that the thief may have caused her harm in their attempt to take her ring. In addition to the theft of jewelry directly taken off my grandmother's body, I must also mention that her personal safe was violated and valuables were taken from it. Furthermore, sentimental paperweights from her windowsill were also stolen. This blatant disregard for residents’ belongings is utterly unacceptable. Adding insult to injury, when we brought our concerns to the management, they callously brushed off our claims by stating that they don’t hire workers with a criminal background. This dismissive response only adds to the frustration and disbelief we feel. Despite the presence of cameras all over the facility, which should have served as a deterrent to theft and facilitated the identification of the culprit, the management still failed to provide any updates or resolution. We meticulously narrowed down the timeframe of the theft of my grandmother's engagement ring to a few hours, yet they were unable to pinpoint the responsible individual. This lack of accountability and failure to utilize available resources to address such a serious issue is completely baffling. It’s appalling to think that individuals entrusted with the care of vulnerable seniors would stoop to such despicable acts. It’s heartbreaking to see a place that’s supposed to provide comfort and safety fail to protect their residents. I urge anyone considering this facility to thoroughly investigate their security measures before entrusting their loved ones’ well-being to them.
