I recently had the opportunity to visit this community and I must say that my experience was quite positive. Despite some recent changes, the staff truly shine and have made a lasting impression on me. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that the staff members are dedicated to providing exceptional care. The activities offered at the community are engaging and well thought out, catering to the unique interests and needs of the residents. It was wonderful to see the residents actively participating, smiling, and enjoying themselves. While transitions can sometimes lead to uncertainty, this community has managed to maintain a warm and inviting environment. It seems that the leadership is committed to finding the best ways to support and enrich the lives of their residents amidst change. If you are looking for a memory care community that combines a caring staff and engaging activities, I highly recommend considering this one. My family moved my Dad into Bridgewater Memory Care in Granbury in January 2020. At that time, the admin staff and caretakers were skilled and well trained for caring for residents with memory issues. By Spring of 2024, Bridgewater had a new Executive Director and everything changed. Rates increased while care from the staff decreased. I visited my Dad twice a week and each time I went the caregivers that had worked with Dad so well kept leaving and new staff that did not have the same level of experience were hired. His care decreased greatly. He needed help transferring from his wheelchair to the toilet and the new staff were not aware of his needs and he would tell them he didn't need help. He was an Alzheimer's patient, he thought he could still do everything by himself. Staff was not trained to redirect and assist him. He got to the point of needing help to eat and staff would not assist him as he said he did not need help. I continually told staff he needed help. He was regularly left sitting at the table for 2 hours with only half his food eaten and cold. In October 2024, I decided to move him to another facility in town as the care at Bridgewater was so bad. The Executive Director had either fired or run off the good caregivers. I do not know what the Executive Director was trying to accomplish but Bridgewater went from a really excellent care center to a extremely poor and unsafe facility. Many other families also moved their loved ones during this time. My regret is that I did not move Dad sooner. I would never recommend Bridgewater Care facility now for a loved one. The best decision I made was to get my Father out of the facility and into another facility with very experienced caregivers. Many of the caregivers at the new facility had worked at Bridgewater so they already new the care Dad needed.
This is such a nice community. The layout is the ideal setup for a loved one with cognitive impairment. The leadership and staff truly care and are striving to provide the care your loved ones deserve. If you have someone in the early or advanced stages, I encourage you to visit with their team and tour the community.
I visited this community today and was highly impressed. The building is beautiful and set up specifically for memory care residents. The residents are able to walk around the entire property as well as the courtyards safely. Karen is wonderful and can help families find the right place for their loved ones.
Arbor House is the best Assisted living option in Granbury. They have loved on my mom for the last 2 years and have done a tremendous job. We’re forever grateful for the stress they have taken off our family as we were her caregivers before Arbor House. We highly recommend Arbor House to anyone looking for senior care.
