I will first say a lot has changed now that the company is owned by a new company and not all for the better. But I wanted to come on and say that the best thing about Brickmont is Yvette the activities director!! She truly loves on the people there. She provides entertainment, love, respect and the utmost care for the residents. She is like a second mom and best friend to my mom. I don’t know what we’d do without her. She is a true gem and blessing to that community. She loves and treats the residents like they are family. Thank you Yvette for all you do!!!

Evette at Brookmont Woodstock is amazing! She plans the activities and socials for the residents. She truly cares about the residents and helps make it home! She has variety of activities for all interests and kind. She is a great leader for the community. She also is a great ambassador for the overall Woodstock community as well. My mom is truly blessed to be at Brickmont Woodstock with Evette!
Horrible! They start out very nice when you are signing up, but once there, everything changed! My mom was there for less than 48 hours, and they almost killed her. She was having issues with fluid building up (she has congestive heart failure). They said it was not an emergency, they called the wrong doctor (Rheumatologist instead of Cardiologist), said it would take 24 hours for the doctor to call back, the nurse was not told about the emergency and when she was told, she said it was not an emergency. The Regional Director was not aware of an emergency (she and the nurse were both in meetings all morning). Mom finally insisted on going to the hospital after 6 plus hours. The hospital said she got there just in time! Her heart was was 50% when she arrived at Brickmont on Tuesday at 5:30 pm, and it was 25% when she arrived at the hospital Thursday at 4:00 pm - less than 48 hours! After multiple calls and threats, they finally agreed to refund the money paid expect for April's rent. April's rent was $99 (they had a special). The refund check I received was $1,707.83 short! The Regional Director does not work on Fridays because she lives in a different State and flies home on Thursday nights, and the VP does not even have a phone number provided to the facility. There is no corporate office to be found. STAY AWAY.
One of the best things about Brickmont is Evette, the activities director. She is such a bright light and true friend to the residents. I cannot say enough wonderful things about her! The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because of the food. There seems to be a shortage of help in the kitchen and dining room, so sometimes meals aren't substantial enough. One evening fruit and cottage cheese was the main entree. I understand that the industry as a whole is under-staffed, but with the amount of money families are paying for our loved ones to be fed 3 meals per day, we expect them to have heartier (and sometimes tastier) meals. Thank you!
One of the most important aspects of a great facility is the care partner assigned to walk with you and your loved one along this journey. Cheryl Chandler by far is a Ten Plus hands down every day. Cheryl provided a level of care to my loved one as if she was indeed a member of our family. She dove into taking care of his daily needs but also engaged in getting to know his likes and dislikes. Our family appreciates Cheryl kindness though it is her job she performs it with dignity and love-that is much appreciated. Thank you, Cheryl, for caring!
