Mom was very happy when she was in assisted living, but after they moved her into the skilled nursing facility, she declined at a very rapid pace. If your loved one isn't aware of what's going on around them or cannot communicate, I strongly suggest choosing a facility with Memory Care Unit. There were exceptional nurses & aides that actually cared, and there were also some who were just there to collect a paycheck & hold up the desk at the nurses station & scroll on their phone. Mom either had excellent care or she was neglected. It just depended on who was working. This could really be a great place if they weeded out the lazy ones and they had people engage and interact with the dementia patients instead of letting them sit in a wheelchair and stare into space 99% of the time, which accelerates their decline significantly. They put Depends on her on day one even though she still had control of her bodily functions. PROS:I do love that they had activities/parties/concerts for the residents. Mom was always clean. I liked that the nurses would have a meeting and communicate needs, concerns, and formulate a plan. Food is actually pretty good! CONS: Little to no interaction with dementia patients. No memory care unit. Complaints aren't taken seriously or addressed by management in my experience. If your loved one doesn't have cognitive issues, I think this nursing home is a good place. If they do have cognitive challenges, I would suggest going to a facility with a Memory Care unit.

I am so thankful for Brewster Parke skilled nursing and the staff. My mom had to be admitted from home due to she was unable to care for herself and needed 24 hour care. She was unable to stand or walk in her own due to pain. She is now able to stand and ambulate with a walker thanks to therapy and all the staff that truly care about her. She has improved greatly since being here and continues to improve with the help of the staff. The administrative staff, nursing staff and therapy are wonderful.
I am so thankful for Brewster Park and all that they offer! Everyone is so kind and lovely! Truly a one of a kind place. Caroline and Rebecca are such sweet girls ❤️
Deplorable conditions. Halls cluttered. Smells of urine. Nursing and aides all walking around unmasked despite state and federal regs stating they must mask and wear eye pro. Residents asking for help and told they don't have enough staff. The person I was visiting had to use the restroom. Asked to step outside room so they could assist him. After a few moments she comes out. I ask if he was taken to the bathroom he states no, she said she needs two people. He pulls down the blanket and she had stuck a urinal/jug between his legs and covered with a blanket. This man cannot walk. Cannot care for himself, was left nude under the blanket did. I remained there for another hour and no one returned. Weekends are a zoo there. Free for all, staff do what they want. Odd considering they say owner and admin live on the campus. Must not care what's going on over there. Sad stuff. Once more smell is nauseating as soon as you walk in the door. I've been in kennels that smell better than that hole.
This facility is HORRIBLE. They make the aides pass medication and work more than one building excusing it by saying "they're unlicensed so it's okay." They do not care for the quality of life of their residents and hire people despite them failing drug tests. They mistreat and overwork everyone who works here. The only residents I saw there that were happy were in independent living. The assisted living and nursing home conditions are atrocious and people have died from and suffered from neglect here. I've witnessed abuse and neglect and know others who have as well, FIRSTHAND at this place. Only send your relatives here if you despise them. If this wasn't a public review I'd have some very creative names to call the manager as well.
