Started off great. Moved my elderly mum up from Adelaide after my dad passed away and, unfortunately, after a bad fall and ensuing memory fuzz due to multiple surgeries over an 18month period, we got mum into CapellaBay. Things were going great, their care was fine, the staff were nice until mum developed at UTI and got a bit hard to handle on a Sunday. An ambulance was called and she was taken to hospital. Imagine my dismay when I get a phone call from THE HOSPITAL on Monday morning asking where she will be discharged to as CapellaBay aren't going to take her back. Their reasoning was her dementia is only going to get worse, so she needs to go to a more secure facility. They recommended she go into an actual dementia ward at a nearby facility. She didn't belong there and their recommendation that she did was, inaccurate, unwarranted and grossly premature. I requested she be moved into the general area at Regis Birkdale poste haste, and she has since settled in beautifully. Sure, she's forgetful, but putting her in a dementia ward when she didn't need to be in one was cruel and distressing. My advice if you use CapellaBay (Mackenzie Aged Care)? Have a Plan B, they could pull the rug out from under you at any time.

I delivered furniture today, 24/11/23. Sally and the receptionist, went above and beyond with their time and help. Such a pleasure delivering items to such kind natured people. I'm very impressed by how there's still genuine service 👏 and their actions by their simple approach of respect to everyone!
My mum has been a resident here for 6 years after having a stroke. They are highly professional, genuinely care about their residence and are a fantastic facility. The staff are wonderful as is the level of care. These guys set the bar for aged care in Australia.
My Mum has been at CapellaBay for over 2 years now and we are very happy with her care. The entire staff are extremely hard working, dedicated and caring. It is a modern facility that has been well thought out. The Lifestyle Team do an outstanding job in keeping the residents entertained and enjoying their days. It is really nice when we visit to see how welcoming and open all the staff are to us.
My Farther was a recent resident of Capella Bay. I can't speak highly enough of the care he received while he was in Capella Bay, the wonderful caring staff, amazing food and custom designed building combined to make his stay a very comfortable time, McKenzie ACG has set the bar high for age care.
