The Good: Their response time is incredible. From contacting them about my dad to answering questions. They are far more responsive than many of the places I contacted. The Bad: He didn't have a working TV until the third day so he was bored a lot. The timing on medication distribution wasn't great. The biggest thing though is they tried to serve him fish two days in a row even though he is allergic. If he was in assisted living, it wouldn't be too big a deal, but he was in the memory care unit. If a patient has Alzheimer's or dementia; they may not remember their allergies and they could die. This is a big deal. Thankfully, dad knew to tell them he couldn't eat it.

We put my father in Bloom in 2017. He was there for about five or six months. Obviously it's very expensive like all decent nursing homes. It was a good experience. It's like anything you gotta come a lot and keep an eye on how he's being treated. My father was in the lockdown unit due to having dementia, the lockdown unit was very clean. His room was usually very clean and the girls that attended to him were ok. Due to my father being a World War 2 veteran we were very blessed to be able to get him Into the v a home up state. Thank goodness my father was a veteran because this home , as well as any other decent home would have bled my mother dry financially. My mother's best friend had her husband in Bloom for about 2 years. I can't even think of the cost to her but it is what it is.
I cannot express how wonderful Bloom and the Bloom family are! Jeff has made this the easiest transition for my mother! His energy and love for his residents is abundant! We are so excited for this next stage for mother and know she will be happy here. The people are wonderful, the food is fantastic and all the activities are amazing! They genuinely love and care for the residents here and welcome any suggestions on how to improve things, if one should feel the need.
We love Bloom at Belfair. My mother in law moved in last May, in the height of the COVID-19 pandemic due to a cross country move. She loves the food, and the staff have been so kind and accommodating to her needs. The activities staff gives her so much positive attention. We love that she is able to have her primary care manager visit her AT her apartment, and also her PT and OT! They helped her figure out better habits for mobility challenges and noticed all of what she can do - they really are serious about helping elders "bloom." While it is hard to make a big transition, and the COVID-19 quarantine rules were difficult for both staff and for family members, the Bloom staff were professional, friendly and communicated well. Because she lives there, she was vaccinated against COVID already (first week of January), and she will get the second dose soon. This is a good and caring facility. Best of all, they reminded US that we need to focus on what Mom CAN do, not on all the things she no longer is able to do. We needed to hear that.
The moment I walked through the doors at Bloom at Belfair, I knew this is the best place for my sister. You can tell that every staff member is there because they want to be. Everyone is caring and kind, plus there is something going on every day. Bloom at Belfair nailed it.
