These people are rude. They see a hardworking amazon worker and i asked nicely may i use the bathroom after i delivered packages and she said it’s not open to the public.

I have truly fought with myself to post this review, but this seems like what will get their attention the fastest. I’ve lived at this property for 2 years and because I previously worked here with the current property manager and maintenance tech, I’ve always seemed to keep all issues under wraps. Recently, I have experienced neglect from my concerns being addressed. I have notified a DPIE inspector and I have opened a case regarding neglect. I have a leak in several different areas of my ceiling that was not repaired or addressed for 3 weeks that created mold spores in my ceiling, a mice infestation, appliances not working as they should, a lease renewal that was not processed for over 2 months until a new APM started in the office. I have been very patient, very respectful and very communicative, even after not getting what I need. Contractors were called to plaster and repaint my ceiling, all while the leak was NOT repaired after Felisa communicated that it was repaired. I still haven’t been told where the source of the leak was coming from, but I’m almost certain it was raining URINE from upstairs, as they closer they “repainted” has a potent URINE smell. Their painters around some clearly stained areas and didn’t do a good job, sanding and painting, as the leak stain is back on my ceiling and they came Tuesday 7/30, and today is 8/2… My microwave completely lost power and was not addressed for several days. When it was addressed, the board to the microwave was left wobbly… My dryer has had a piece of silver tape on there placed by maintenance, because when you set the timer and close the dryer, it stops because something is NOT latching.. Maintenance has not been doing preventative maintenance as they should. I haven’t had my filter replaced in a year and my house constants smells and feels like there’s moisture within my unit. I’ve had mold spores all over my daughters bedding to be told by the property manager that it’s my fault. The service and this building have not been the same since the staff who knew what they were doing departed. There is a new APM Lisa who is wonderful, very communicative and got my lease done her first 2 weeks here, after it had been sitting since late APRIL! I love my home, the location works for me and my child’s schooling, so I do not want to move and moving when you’re already established and comfortable is NOT easy. Hopefully this will cause someone to reach out to me, as Felisa has many unread and unanswered emails from me and finally discuss what has been going on inside of my home and FINALLY RESOLVE THE MANY ISSUES THAT MAINTENANCE HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO RESOLVE!!!!!!!
I am so happy that I had the opportunity to work with the leasing professional Misha. She is very pleasant and went above and beyond to answer all the questions I had. She gave me a tour of the building and my new apartment and explained everything to me. I’m in love with my new place and can’t wait to get settled in our new apartment. I would highly recommend Bladensburg commons as a place to call home.
I applied to Bladensburg commons in 2022 and finally received notice that an apartment would be available earlier this year. There was never a concrete date; however, I was encouraged that something would be available soon. "Soon" turned into later more often than once. I patiently waited on an available apartment until finally I am told that I would be able to "take possession of the apartment on the 14th" of July. I was asked to update some of my income verifying documents but assured that I had been approved and qualified for the apartment. Hence, the lease start date. I should've have known something was wrong when the assistant property manager offered to meet with me outside of business hours to retrieve my application fee in the form of a money order. I eventually managed to drop off the application payment as well as tour the property. The hallways were nasty with a trail of trash juice leading to the trash room filled with old discarded furniture from previous residents. I was still going to move forward, despite the off putting up keep of the building. I put in my 30 day notice to vacate my current apartment and requested to adjust my move-in date from the 14th of July to the 23rd. After all, I've been waiting over a year. What harm could an additional week cause? I was given push back after requesting the additional week. "The apartment is move-in ready and I don't know if my property manager will want to hold the unit that long". I asked for some flexibility and was told to wait until Monday for an update. Well here we are; it's Monday, and apparently I was never told I had been approved for the apartment and that after sending my documents to compliance I made too much to income qualify. I have been income qualified in DC and the calculations are extremely different. This property is trash. I'm upset that I was told I was approved before my documents were sent to compliance. I would not have put in a 30-day notice to vacate had I known my application was still pending. Do better.
Everyone has different experiences with people and places but for me I have no complaints more compliments than anything. Its in a great location shopping, the beltway, and schools are all less than a mile away. I finally got the call at a great time in my life seriously a blessing. THE STAFF WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO HELP ME GET INTO THE APARTMENT. THEY ALSO WENT ABOVE AND TO HELP ME GET MY APPLICATION PROCESSED. I have been moved in now for a little over 3 months and my experience with the PROPERTY and the STAFF including MAINTENANCE has been nothing but AMAZING!!!!
