My grandmother has been here for over 3 years and we love it. It’s sad to see so many mixed reviews as we have never experienced anything but friendly and loving staff and care for her. Their case manager is the sweetest and goes out of her way for us whenever it is needed. It took my family a long time to be ok with placing her anywhere but home. The staff as always made us feel like she is safe and loved. Couldn’t be happier.
I wish I could leave more stars I was greeted by the most friendly staff. It brings so much comfort knowing my loves one is in such kind and caring hands. Choosing Birchwood was the best decision!
Pricing is amazing compared to what I have seen on Long Island. My aunt has dementia and only communicates in Spanish these days and it was so nice to see her speaking and talking with the staff. They are so caring and go out of the way anytime we need. Couldn’t be happier
I have debated posting this as my Father is currently a resident here, but after multiple instances, if there is retaliation, this was made public. Do not bring a loved one here to live! There is absolutely no dignity for these residents, especially on the memory care floor, I wish I could call it a unit, but the staff literally slides the meals down the table, no proper setting, hand towels used for napkins, and the meals!!! As a Chef in memory c a re, one of the most important aspects of engagement with memory care issues is the use of color! Every single time I come it's, one...not nutritionally values meals, and all one color! And the staff...some are OK, but I was literally verbally attacked by two staff a couple weeks ago. Management is horrendous, the staff can not be probably trained, because the management has no training! The day I was verbally attacked, causing me trauma, I'm now nervous everytime I come here, there was no head nurse on duty, no supervisor present, staff parks in guest spaces....it's just a poorly run facility. I pray this review really gets the management thinking on ehat needs to be improved, and should you need any assistance in training, reach out to me because your staff is the stuff people fear, they are every stereotype of aids in nursing homes. I love my father tremendously, and I pray for him every second in this environment!!!!
