Some beautiful homes, a grand club house, and a pond……That’s all! This is a new 55+ community based around a great pond area. But this place just seems disorganized. From the condos right next to the homes, just seems like mess and a big parking lot. States it’s a gated community but the gates are right in front of the homes. This community is an open parking lot, a lot like the developmental planning, it doesn’t look good or clean! They didn’t consider parking or guest parking. It’s just cluttered. The main gate off of Loudoun County Parkway leading to the grand club house is ALWAYS randomly flied with cars, in the narrow gateway. The one near the random build is lead with no parking signs and bright yellow curbs? But isn’t there fire hydrate in the other entrances too…. While nice this community doesn’t seem planned out, theyif there is limited guest street parking, why not designate guest parking at the club house and offer golf cart drops offs, hire local teens or something, other than random entrance parking. Overall, there are other communities that seem to have it together or I would check out other 55+ communities in the area. I have added some extra photos of other communities in the area. See if you can spot Birchwood’s “gated” entrance verse other community entrances. Guess which ones are Birchwood! Hopefully, birchwood can get it together!

Housing and lake are very appealing but half way full and amenities are already insufficient. Surrounding neighborhoods invade the limited parking on our streets, outsiders recklessly racing bikes around the lake which is a hazard to the residents, 2 pickleball courts not nearly enough, outdoor pool is entirely way too small! You have to beg to get your yard mulched even though all the neighbors have been done for months! Cant wait to get out!!
Horrible.... These are private courts so don't bother going there unless you live there. Honestly they aren't even that great in general. Besides being new and well painted, they don't have a high wall neither are they very big. Try Conklin park
Great community and amenities. Beautiful homes. I don’t get the “For Brambleton and Birchwood Residents only” signs around the pond and the gates. Those are public paths that lead to other areas where “outsiders” can walk to the pond. Additionally, you can literally walk right around the gates and they provide little to no actually security. The “facilities attendant” harasses members of the community who are allowed to be there. The paths around the pond are crowded though and the only other place to walk through the paths in the woods aren’t paved and hard to navigate. The community is still developing so I’d like to see what they have in store.
Very unwelcoming community. Went to visit the lake today with my kids and the guard came out from the office and told us not to park there and he was rude, very disrespectful in front of my kids. I think the community should put proper signs in their parking (which was empty btw) lot instead of having the security guard harrasing people.
