I cannot say enough wonderful things about the nursing center at Big Elm. My mom spent over a month in their short term rehabilitation center and it was such a smooth and seamless transition. The support staff, (Santricia + Krista) literally held my hand every step of the way. All of the nurses and aides were so nice and kind and attentive. I don’t know how we would have survived this ordeal without them. Thank you all so very much!

This facility treats their residents terribly. Not the med tech or the CNA's but the owner and the upper Admin (namely Izabela, Tom and Mike) owner moves residents around who don't have bladder control to filthy moldy rooms so he doesn't have to "smell them when he walks in" they only have 2 med techs and 2 CNA's to change/feed/ and check on more than 50 residents. When employees try and advocate for residents they are scolded and told that they are "causing problems". I wouldn't put my worst enemy in this facility much less someone I cared about. Residents are stuck in there and have no opportunities for community events. The admin doesn't even know long term residents names. If I could give 0 stars I would! My family and I have dealt with several nursing homes in my surrounding area. I must say if I could give Big Elm a score of 1million I would. The staff took such good care of our 83 year old mother, Katherine Eller. This was her 5th surgery and 4th rehab. Big Elm staff was friendly, caring and very courteous. My family and I will be forever grateful! Thank you Mckayla for going above and beyond the call of duty! Wow Nardette you are the sweetest PT and so good at what you do! Keshia and Shay thank you for loving on our mother. All of your staff is amazing!!!
Although many employees are very loving and caring, communication from the administration and directors regarding patient needs is terrible. The turnover in staff due to poor management and lack of care for employees greatly undermines the patient care. I would not ever put another loved one in this facility.
This place is a gem. Wonderful staff and exceptional medical care. If you are in need of either short term rehabilitation or extended nursing care, this place is so very special.
