I would not recommend this assisted living facility to anyone who cares about the well-being of their loved ones. The management is disorganized and unresponsive, creating a stressful and unsafe environment for both residents and staff. I witnessed and heard of multiple instances where residents were neglected, their needs overlooked, and their dignity ignored. Staff are overworked, under-supported, and often spoken to disrespectfully by those in charge. This facility appears to prioritize profit over people, and it shows in the care—or lack thereof—provided. Families deserve better. Our seniors deserve far better.

My husband was admitted to Bickford about 5 weeks ago. There were some concerning issues regarding his medication the first week and a half. They did, however, work diligently to resolve those issues. Since then, things have been wonderful. The caring staff is genuinely interested in every resident there, and it shows. It is much better than the large facilities where often you feel like a number. My husband gets a lot of attention and is appreciative of the many friendships he has made with staff members. I am there quite often and am treated the same way by the staff and feel valued. They are supportive, professional, attentive, considerate, and always willing to help.
My sister and I looked into this place about 3 months ago for my parents. Despite the fact the rooms are very small for two people, we still decided to put the $500 deposit down and hoped a bigger room would soon becoming available. After visiting another Assisted Living facility the very next day, we found another place that would fit out parents' needs better. We immediately informed Bickford and requested our $500 be refunded. We were told it would be mailed to us. That was 10 weeks ago. We have yet to receive the $500 check and are also not getting a response from Beth Tengerstrom, executive director, or Joshua Warren, family advocate. Unprofessional business practice for sure.
Bickford of Crown Point has been my second family for 9 years. Interacting with our residents on a daily basis brings me great joy! They are truly my "why." Enriching their happiness is what it's all about and that’s what we strive for at Bickford!
My mom is very happy & well cared for at Bickford. She has her independence and feels safe. The facility is very clean. Her favorite activities are bingo, exercise, bible study and watching the entertainers.
