My Mother was recently in Beth Shalomroom for rehab after being in and out of the hospital, and another rehab since January 1st of this year. She has many problems that often cause problems with her strength, and thought processes. The other rehab place was okay, and some of the staff were nice and caring, but some were there for "a job", and it showed. At Beth Shalom, she was welcomed, the building was clean, cheery, and inviting. A place where you saw smiles, and always greeted. I was never worried about leaving my mom everyday, while she was there The staff treated her with compassion and respect. The CNA', nurses, Doctor and therapist always had her best welfare in mind. I often worried about leaving her at the other rehab, The NP was great with her, but he didn't see her every day I can't say enough about the blessings that my family felt from everyone at this rehab. I only wish it was bigger so more people could experience the wonderful, loving, care my mom received. May God bless you all for your love and compassion. You are His Angels here on earth.

Very nice facility I must say! Doesn't smell and everyone is really nice and inviting! My grandmother was there for about 4 months until she transitioned. Some staff were nice and some nurses weren't nice at all. We absolutely loved MiMi and Shirley! Hmm.. I don't recommend the comfort care and hospice they provided. It seems that they just give the elderly patients morphine to force them to pass away. I'd give their food maybe a 5/10. Overall clean, staff is okay as I stated some nice some not. There's room for improvement. I also wanted to add there was a nurse that watched my grandmother suffer from a seizure and the nurse did nothing. My family had to call 911.
My father was in here for about 4 months care started out good but went down hill after that. He was supposed to be under the care of hospice which was supposed to be Comfort care That did not happen we had to fight daily with the staff and doctors to help keep him calm and comfortable. I have witnessed hospice care before and it was wonderful this was not what happened in this facility. They would not listen to any family member about how well his care was. I would not recommend this facility to my worst enemy
I was a patient at Beth Sholom two separate times for a total of close to 100 days in the first 6 months of 2017.. The care I received was outstanding and I will always be appreciative for the personal type care that the whole staff provided. The caretakers, therapist, nurses and staff went out of their way to provide the care that you truly hope you get from a facility like this but seldom do. My personal thanks to all the caretakers, physical therapist and nurses, you were incredible and I will always think of you. I totally recommend this facility! Bob Johnson Nags Head, NC
Please keep your loved ones as far from this place as possible. If i could give negative stars i would. We had a complete nightmare with this place care of my Mother in law. It was suppose to be a place to help mom get home healthier and stronger than she came in. 8am-8pm, the place looks staffed and after 8pm...wow! This place turned into a ghost town and so was the care for the elderly. My Mother in law was there for recovery from having surgery for a pacemaker. She was doing good when she left the hospital able to walk and positive attitude and ready to get home. When we arrived, everything was rushed and we were told the registration paper work would be emailed to us(nothing was ever emailed and we never received anything from them on her treatment plan). When it came to her recovery plan, that was something we never received. She came in there able to walk and they left her in a wheelchair all the time. She came in there able to use the bathroom on her own, only needing help getting up, to them putting Depends on her because they didn't either want to help or have the staff to help. We would wait 15-25 minutes to get help when pressing the button with us having to seek help most of those times we would have to walk up to the nursing station where we found everyone on their phone. When there after 8pm, a gentleman in the room next to us wait over 25 minutes to get help(his IV was empty). When I walked to the Nurses station nobody was there and nobody was down hall 1, 2, 3 or 4. Finally, someone came out and asked if I needed help with an attitude like I was bothering her. I told I didn't need help but the gentleman in 110 needed some assistance. "We will get to him!" was her reply. Every day my wife would change Mom into her clothes because they left her in her bed. Half the time they didn't changer her into her pajamas when we would arrive in the mornings. We had to start dressing her for bed at night and get her dressed in the morning. One morning she was in her shirt from the night before and depends. Don't know where her pants and socks were and it was 10:25am. When i asked they said her nurse called out but they would get to her. They would continue to put Depends on her throughoutour stay. Then to top it off when the discharge nurse was taking Mom to the car she grabbed her by her cotton pants and underwear to lifter her up causing her pain because they rode up in her. Mom could walk but she wasn't listening to us. She even threw the foot rest for the wheelchair off hitting our car with them. It was a complete nightmare when this was suppose to be one of the better places for recovery places for the elderly. If you have to go here make sure you are there and be your loved ones advocate because the staff was not advocating for Mom's recovery. They were more for pushing her through the system and setting up discard dates based on insurance NOT if Mom was physically and mentally ready or not. The only positive experience was when Mom went to PT. The two times I was able to watch her and the young lady was encouraging and helping Mom on the bike and bouncing the ball off the trampoline and catching it.
