Berea Alzheimer’s Care Center reminds me of the children's book “The Little Engine That Could”. It may not be the prettiest little building but in my experience, they have the best hearts working with dementia/Alzheimer’s residents. They are calm and cool and work as a team to redirect whenever a Resident becomes agitated or tearful. They don’t miss a beat and it keeps everyone else calm. I am impressed! Observing this in action daily, it’s the exact reason why I came on board with this facility. (Other than their Executive Director Endia who exudes professionalism and joy daily). It’s no surprise they are a 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 facility. A five-star rating is never given. It is always earned. Every single day.

I am so grateful to Berea Alzheimer’s Care Center for taking such good care of my dad for the past five years! Although they are not perfect (no nursing home is absolutely perfect), they are perfect for my dad. The administrator is such a wonderful person who truly cares and the staff does a great job as well with engaging the patients in activities and keeping them safe. I am lucky to have them and trust them with my dad’s care.
I’ve had the pleasure of having a Family Member at this Facility, and i have recommended them to My Colleagues and other families. My Aunt experience was nothing but AMAZING for a patient with Dementia. The Staff was compassionate, rooms were clean and open communication. if i could give them more than 5 stars i would.
In a time and place where a good long term care agency is hard to come by, this home is exceptional. The population they care for is hard and they do a beautiful job supporting the patients and their family members during such a challenging time.
My grandmother reported being hit by another resident and the nurses told me “we don’t report what we don’t see” and did nothing about it. I had to go higher up. The staff and nurses are very disrespectful and rude. I watched a nurse become angry when a patient fell and was on the ground. It was disheartening. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve called only for them to slam the phone on me, mutter things under their breath. Meetings with HR and the director, where they resorted to yelling at my father and I. Suddenly, when we are wondering why they haven’t gotten my grandmothers medical history and “we only take blood pressure once a month” to “we take it daily but don’t log it”, they change my grandmothers visiting and call hours? Mon-Fri 9am to 5pm knowing that’s our working hours? Retaliation at all? Still have no answer as to why they did this. My grandmother still remembers her family and us not being able to see her is awful.
