After scoping out 6 assisted living places for my 95 year old mom I intuitively knew Benchmark was the perfect place for my mom. It felt like home from my first visit. The staff is so wonderful: sara Bilik put my mom at ease with the transition of moving away from home and friends by telling my mom that it will be tough for the first month and then you’ll love it. My mom often said “sara was wrong! It was only tough for a couple of days!!” She loved all the music, the activities, the food, the wondrous friends she made and the entire CNA staff. (Tanja st.Jean felt like another daughter to her!). My mom received excellent PT care from Dave Brody and even a podiatrist and mobile dentist who came to take care of the residents. When it became apparent that my mom required memory care, the transition was seamless and the staff moved mountains to make my mom’s move easy. In memory care she was lovingly attended to by angels named Jamie Carroll, Marta, delores, Beba and several other wonderful women. The housekeepers were loving and warm too: Mariam and Soo were amazing. There’s a beauty salon and Jackie made my mom feel beautiful. Tracy at the reception desk always made me feel welcome and I have only good things to say. I’m grateful that benchmark At Ridgefield crossings was my choice for my moms safety and care and for my peace of mind which was priceless.

Sara and the entire staff at BRC are so professional AND compassionate. They really understand how to make the transition to assisted living as smooth as possible, and we could never have done this as successfully for my mother without their guidance and insight. Because the staff has so much experience helping residents AND their families who are in this stage of life, they can provide invaluable advice and direction. We were and are very happy with the experience at BRC.
My mother has been a resident here for the past two years. If I stack the cost against all of it, the care is decent, the place itself is also decent. However, be aware the costs they charge to be here go up every year, and not by a little. This January 2025 they raised the combined cost of her place and care by 10% from last year (with no change in level of care). While I understand costs are rising everywhere a 10% increase year over year is an exorbitant amount. This is well beyond any typical increase that follows the inflation rate, etc. Benchmark has their pre-written explanations for the increases but I don't buy it. This feels like the rest of our healthcare system. Pass the cost onto the consumer while they make their record high profits. I would love to be able to consider finding somewhere else for her that doesn’t increase their prices by double digit percentages year over year but I can’t put my mother through the trauma of a move at this point. I wonder how much Benchmark calculates this into their practices. The knowledge of the strain it can cause to move elderly loved ones and thus how far they can push their price increases. Hopefully this is helpful to anyone doing their research on an assisted living facility. And per their response below. I contacted them and was referred to their director. I left her a message and heard nothing back.
My parents moved into Ridgefield Crossing in the beginning of January. My dad is on the assisted living side. My mom is in memory care. The director, Sara Bilik, met with me and my family several times before we made our decision to move my parents. She followed up with phone calls and emails and was always willing to address any questions we had. Since my parents have moved in, Sara has continued to call, send pictures and videos of my mom and be a constant resource. Since my dad moved in, the directors Nell and Kerry have gone out of their way to get him involved and make sure he has had rides to the pool he attends. He was even recently appointed president of the council. He enjoys the meals and his dining companions. He is already making friends and reports that everyone is warm, friendly and attentive. When I enter, the receptionists always greet me warmly and know what is happening with my parents. The nurses, Nina and Tammy, have also been amazing. They are friendly and knowledgeable. A special shout out to Marta, an aide in the memory care unit, who takes such good care of my mom and to Justin who helped move my dad and is always taking the time to help out and say, “Hello”. I spent two years researching and visiting assisted living facilities to make the best choice. I feel confident that Ridgefield Crossing is the best place for my parents. My mom is getting the care she needs and my dad is able to enjoy this chapter of his life. Janet Davis ( The Elk Family)
My aunt recently moved to this wonderful place a few months back. Being a nurse who works in a long term facility, I'm pleased to say that she's getting thee best care out there. Every time I speak with her she says that everyone's so nice. Whenever I visit I see a clean, beautiful place. Her apartment is so warm and cozy. All her fears of going from her own place to living at a facility have melted away. Her needs, physical and emotional, are of top most priority when caring for her. I feel good that she's so loved and well taken care of. This place isn't just a senior facility, it's her home. I highly recommend this place to anyone who's considering having their loved one move to a safe, responsible environment.
