The care for my elderly mother with Alzheimer's by the staff at BeeHive Homes has been exemplary. She was welcomed with love and continues to enjoy life even with cognitive decline. They respectfully support her needs including social interaction, medical, hygiene, meals and safety. Our family feels blessed to have found a place that is joyful and full of life where she can feel at home.

If you have a loved one that lives in the BeeHive Homes in Edgewood or planning to put a love one there, please put cameras up to watch the staff. You think all is well, but trust me, you want cameras in the room. Most of the staff is fabulous! Shout out to Christy, Suzanna, Cassie, Gail, Nichole & Yolanda! They are definitely keepers and I don’t have to check up on them or watch the videos. Everybody else that works there, mostly evening and weekends needs to be retrained, if they are even trained or just fired. I have videos showing neglect or just unfriendly attitude. My dad has Alzheimer’s, so yes he is going to have bad and very aggravating days. He has good days as well, but lately more bad days, which his doctor is working on medication that will work for him. BUT, some of the staff, I did not include their names, if they can’t work with the elderly that are not happy all the time or if they can’t work with people with dementia, Alzheimer’s, wetting themselves in their diapers because they have lost the ability to make it to the bathroom, not want to give medication or do treatment that is doctors orders, then this is definitely not the work environment for them and they should leave or be fired. The only reason I know what is going on and what is being said to or about my dad is because I have cameras installed and yes the staff knows they are there. Beehive can be a great place if they get rid of the people that should not be working there. But please, for your loved ones, put cameras up! Also if you need proof for neglect or mistreatment you will have the proof on video weather for a lawyer or for State to review.
My husband has been at BeeHive Homes Assisted Living in Edgewood, NM since July 22, 2023. All of the caregivers are excellent and make up a team that is above and beyond anything we have experienced at the hospital and 2 other skilled nursing facilities in Albuquerque. They are always professional, quick to answer calls and the kindness they show to him and also to me is heartwarming and so appreciated. The peace of mind they have given me is immeasurable. The place is immaculately clean and the food is delicious and healthy. They always serve me a plate when I am here (all the time) which never happened anywhere else without paying for it. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an outstanding place for yourself or a loved one. I will be eternally thankful and grateful to everyone working here for the amazing care and compassion they show us everyday. I am so happy they had a room available for him and allow me to be with him everyday. ♥️♥️♥️ Charlotte Gammill
My grandmother was a resident at the Beehive Homes of Edgewood before her passing and I felt there to be a number of heartbreaking experiences within her care that I would consider neglectful. I hesitated for some time to write a review, however when I read about a recent tragedy at the facility I felt it important to share our experiences with others. Before allowing a loved one to enter their care, I would highly recommend obtaining copies of the State of NM Dept of Health reports on this, or any other, facility you consider. As far as my experiences there, I felt the atmosphere of the Beehive to be unsafe, as the staff seemed to forget to administer medications or follow through with doctors’ orders on a number of occasions. It appeared as if a lot of important information and updates were lost between shift changes. Many of the staff appeared to be untrained in things like rolling patients, changing sheets and understanding dementia. The atmosphere of the facility also came off to me as having staff that were overworked, distracted and overwhelmed; limiting the time and quality of attention they were able to give to residents. During my visits there, I always thought the unfenced property to be of concern for dementia patients. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this facility for elders that need medical assistance or have dementia conditions. I hope the organization takes such feedback into consideration to implement some much-needed changes for the sake of their residents.
I moved my dad to the Edgewood Behive in July 2017. He was at Bear Canyon in Albuquerque after a stay in the hospital, at Bear Canyon he was neglected and got a huge bed sore, they never bathed him, he was total care. I had to get him out of there! The beautiful people at the Edgewood Beehive were awesome! They ARE NOT A MEDICAL FACILITY, they are an assisted living home. Armada Hospice, another awesome company sent nurses and aides to care for my dads medical needs. He was treated with kindness and respect in his final days on this earth while he was at the Behive Home! I highly recommend them for a place for your loved ones that cannot care for themselves at home! I visited at least twice daily during the time my dad was there and never once heard or saw any disrespect of any residents.
