Baywoods was just what we needed when my wife lost the ability to climb stairs. Our 5 years there were made immeasurably better by the excellent quality of the staff. These are people who did everything from cleaning our apartments every week, feeding us restaurant quality food everyday, taking care of residents in countless ways, and managing the facility, including selling apartments when necessary. I can't think of any improvements to suggest. When first considering Baywoods, I presented Jim Harrington with over 100 questions since it was my first time looking at a cooperative or an independent living facility. Though I am a very cynical person, he answered every question to my satisfaction. After living there for nearly 5 years, not once were any of his answers contradicted by the reality. My father, Jerry, is at Baywoods in the short term rehab for the 4th time. He has been in a number of facilities…hospitals, acute rehabs and sub-acute rehabs. Baywoods, by far, has been his/our favorite. The staff is incredibly caring, patient and kind. Jenelle and Mable have been just amazing during each of his admissions! Jenelle even flagged a spot above his eye and encouraged us to get it checked out… turned out to be cancer! Mable and Janelle are so understanding, warm, willing to anything needed to help Dad and make him feel comfortable and special. Their use of humor is great too! This time he has also had other great staff support him like Hawa and the 3 Tonya’s. The food is great too and the facility right on the Chesapeake Bay is beautiful. As long as you have this wonderful staff, we will continue to use and recommend Baywoods for any rehab needs!
Our parents spent the past 9 years at Baywoods in Independent and then Assisted Living. What a sense of community between the residents and staff at Baywoods. Mom developed a second family in Assisted and her caregivers were nothing short of amazing. I was very happy with my superb care at BayWoods of Annapolis Rehab Center (The Health Care Center). The staff was wonderful and caring. The therapists who provided my rehabilitation treatment were excellent and very knowledgeable. Nurses, Doctors and Techs really cared about the quality of my care and interacted with the referring hospital as well as local doctors. The Social Worker did a great job on my aftercare planning, as I transitioned back home. BayWoods is a beautiful facility with excellent food (Chefs ,waiters and waitresses provided marvelous customer service), charming dining areas, and private rooms with bath. Social Directors had daily activities planned. Although I was there for rehab I had the pleasure of interacting with the full time residents. There were so many nice people. They were gracious enough to invite me to look at their apartments" that were simply beautiful"! Thanks to everyone at BayWoods for making this rehab stay a positive experience. Bonnie L. Powell
My husband and I purchased a unit a year ago at Baywoods of Annapolis. We have been welcomed warmly by both residents and staff. This is a cooperative and the residents have a great say as to how it runs and have approval over the budget. We have been invited to actively participate on various committees with other residents as we try to make our community better serve the needs of all. The staff is very responsive and friendly and our transition from home ownership to apartment living was much easier than either of us had expected. My husband injoys the woodworking shop while I find the fitness center activities to be convenient and challenging. Above all, we have enjoyed the dining menues and tasty offerings prepared by our chefs. And I love not having to cook all of our meals. Baywoods is definitely worth a look if you are considering a retirement living community.
