Sort of a nice surprise to myself that I’m still here after almost three years. When I hired in I agreed to stay 2 years since I was mostly retired at the time. However, my Pastry Chef wife and I feel honored to be able to be able to provide, as the Residents say, better then any restaurant fare could compare quality food items from savory to sweet. As a culinary team we have over 60 years experience in causal and fine dining. Since dining is a social activity here it MUST be as perfect as possible. We feel this community is the Home of every Resident and as such each Resident is entitled to be taken care of real good. In order to take real good care of our Residents the entire team of staff members cross lines into other departments to lend a hand if needed. Our main goal is our Residents needs and wants. We never say no. We figure out a way to say Yes! We really love our Relationship with the Residents and our team members. THIS IS A HAPPY PLACE.

5/5 would recommend! The Activities Director ensures that there are lots of opportunities for resident socialization- bingo, bonfires, happy hour, movie nights, euchre, book club, Bible Study, morning walks, aerobics, etc. The entire building is beautifully decorated (decor changes with the season/holiday). There's a large library, electric fireplaces on three of the four floors, exceptional housekeeping Staff, a nutritious and filling menu, and a host of lovely residents. Management has worked incredibly hard to address any prior concerns regarding medical staff (which is provided by a 3rd party) and there's now a hardworking, organized, and dedicated Staff in place. Lloyd's Bayou is striving to be the very best Senior Living Community in the area and I have complete confidence that the goal will not only be met, it will be exceeded!
My mom has been very happy at this locale; however, the company that is in charge of the nursing is a joke. The nurses for the most part are wonderful and feel like members of the family. The turn-over rate is very high. The building has ONE nurse on staff at night for the entire building. There have been issues with medications and services not being provided for as scheduled, and yet we receive bills for the same services. I purposely moved my mom into this facility based on previous recommendations. Families should not have to call with concerns like this repeatedly.
I heartily and without hesitation recommend Lloyd's Bayou. We moved my father here during very complicated circumstances, and the staff did everything possible to help us. They assisted in getting my father into his apartment, and they were extremely helpful in aiding my father to settle in. Keely especially helped my father by giving him jobs to do to help him feel needed. He moved in during Covid as well, so meeting people was difficult, yet they still helped him not feel isolated. My father also benefitted from the regular walks done as a community activity. His health improved, as well as his social life. Even though I live a state away, Heather and Alex kept me informed of everything related to my father's care. When a concerned relative called me about an issue with my father, I already knew about it because Heather made sure I had been informed immediately. Heather is a professional. She knows and does her job well. Heather is also more than the manager. She came back to work on an evening when my father was having medical issues in order to meet the ambulance for me. She stayed with my father and the in-house nurse, and waited until the ambulance had safely taken my father to the hospital before returning home. She gave up her evening, and later again another Sunday morning, to help me in caring for my father. I cannot thank her enough. If you are considering a place for your senior family member to live, Lloyd's Bayou is an excellent choice. You will never regret it. They are not just 'doing their job;' they are caring for people.
The staff is warm and welcoming and the activities are great! Grandparents are able to host their grandchildren for fun events like Easter Egg Hunts which is so wonderful! The make and take dinner parties are always a hit with each of the residents.
